Year 1: Reliable, Efficient, Surprising
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR - Hitting about a year, with a little care and maintenance, and knowing it can upgrade, this is a great value powerhouse for media work, gaming and everyday use with aesthetics to boot. Quality - Overall 9/10 Chasis: 5/5 - Its solid, feels good and its a beaut! I am not a fan of the green logo on the black Razers, and also they are very much fingerprint magnets (which will bother me to no end). This one is very clean! Internal Specs: 4/5 - This is relative, so I'll share what I do: I work on various mediums such as video, photography and design work. This includes Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Silhouette Studio, etc. The most intensive game I've run on here is Red Dead Redemption 2 (possibly Battlefront 2, that one seems to require quite a deal), and it runs great even while connected to a 2.5k monitor and a few steps away from the highest graphic settings. I've found this laptop to be valuable to both my work and my play. The missing point is due to some battery bloating I have recently experienced, but am currently in the process of getting that repaired. I know myself that I've mismanaged heat on this laptop a couple times so that may be my fault. Either way, there is a 2-year warranty on the battery so that was nice to find out! Value - Overall 10/10 With care, I would imagine this can last a person a few years while keeping up with my needs (as noted in the value section). Breaking down the price I paid, in one year I am basically paying $7 a day for reliable, power and good looking machine. Tack on a few gradual upgrades (moving up to 32g RAM soon, and replacing the 512GB SSD with a 1TB SSD), that still be less than $5 a day in two years, etc. Ease of Use - Overall 8/10 It's not complicated to run generally. But to get the full potential out of this thing, and the full life out of it, the more care you put into it the better your results. It is worth noting that this laptop will not take care of itself for you. A couple basic ideas that I think will help. A few basic ideas I'd recommend: - Temperature. The cooler the laptop, the better it will run and the less wear there is on it. While the laptop itself has good systems, certain points of power-use will get it toasty. Lots of ways to tackle this. - Optimize. Get to know your system, tune it up. Don't explore territories you're unsure about (ex: overclocking), but even the smallest tinkerings can optimize the laptop to your needs.

Awesome gaming/student/creator laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was on the fence about this laptop for the longest time because of Razers' support and quality control issues other people were having such as blue screens, bad coil whine, reboot issues, etc etc. After reading multiple reviews and doing research, I finally decided to get when once I saw it was on sale here, which is a big reason why I decided to buy it. I also wanted to give it some time before I wrote a review on this in case I ran into any of these issues. I'll try to keep this review short and cover the things I think are important. I've gone through about 5 Alienware laptops and the last gaming laptop I had was the MSI GS65. They were all great laptops but this one is far better than all of them. Good - Build quality: This is on par with MacBooks. This is the nicest gaming laptop I've ever used. If you hate getting fingerprints on your laptop, go for the Mercury White. Cooling: I was worried about thermal issues at first but with the vapor chamber cooling, the GPU tops at about 77C and the CPU at 82C - 85C and that's while playing Call of Duty Warzone/Multiplayer at basically High settings. With the whole quarantine thing going on, I game like 5-7 hours a day on this and haven't run into any issues so far after a month of use. Battery Life: I get a solid 5 hours of use when browsing the web and watching YouTube videos which is not bad at all for a laptop with these specs. Thats with brightness at 55 and the keyboard backlight at 35. I'm sure I can get another hour or so if I lower some settings but I wanted to base it off of actual usage and not go for a longer battery time. Bad - Keyboard: The keyboard is great but its the wack shift key placement on here that takes some time to get used to. Storage: For a laptop that costs over $2k, you'd think it would come standard with a 1TB SSD but nope. 512GB is definitely not enough Verdict - Buy this if it's on sale. I would definitely not pay full price for this. At $1899, it's worth it for sure. I also bought the protection plan for this in case anything goes wrong and I will update this review if anything does.

Pretty but I didn't keep it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It struggled with VR which was not a problem on my 2017 laptop. The screen turned off on it's own a few times, still don't know why, and I couldn't update to the newest windows without doing a weird work around in the system files. Meh, not a big fan. Pretty machine though- returned it after a week.

Constant blue screen crashes when not plugged in
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have gone through THREE of these models from Best Buy and every one crashes with a VIDEO TDR FAILURE blue screen error when using the laptop off the internal battery. I do not blame Best Buy for this, but I am not BANNED from their system for doing returns because of Razer's faulty product. I have sent the current on I have directly to Razer. Beware of this product.

Zero Issues, Amazing Thermals, Love This Laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I spent months researching trying to decide on the best gaming laptop. I was looking at the Lenovo Y740, Gigabye Aero 15, ASUS Zephyrus S, and this Razer Blade 15. I heard about people having issues with BSOD's, freezing, various quality control issues for which Razer is known for having. I also saw several positive reviews. So, it seems like luck of the draw in most cases. I decided to roll the dice and I got this Mercury White Razer Blade 15 with RTX 2070 240Hz display. I ended up with one of the good ones, apparently. It has had absolutely zero issues and I've been using it for about a month straight now, since I bought it. I love this laptop and I use it everyday. It's never frozen on me or anything and it is one of the smoothest gaming experiences I've ever had. The form factor is unreal! It's so light and thin, and the power brick is surprisingly small, light and portable. Gaming performance: Overwatch: AVG FPS on EPIC settings 144% render scale 1080P - 80-90FPS, CPU @ 74-77C, GPU @ 71-75C Resident Evil 2: Everything on highest setting 1080P - 80-90FPS CPU @ 71-77C, GPU @ 68-75C Rise of the Tomb Raider: Everything on highest settings 1080P - 74FPS benchmark test, CPU @ 71-76C, GPU @ 70-74C I played Overwatch for a solid two hours and the above temps were the same range. I played RE2 for about 20 mins and ran through the demo in Tomb Raider as well as the benchmark. Gameplay was super crisp and smooth. No stuttering at all. This is all without undervolting. The temps are good enough for me that I haven't even undervolted it yet and gameplay is buttery smooth. I was on the fence about purchasing this laptop for so long, but I'm glad I finally made the purchase. It's so sleek and thin, and an absolute powerhouse of a gaming laptop. The keyboard has very minimal key travel, so be aware of that. I'm used to it now, It would have been nice if Razer put an Ethernet port on here, but they didn't. The base model has an Ethernet port, though. Thermal performance on this laptop is incredible. The CPU and GPU both pretty much average about 75C on every game I've played so far. This was a big concern for me and I can't believe how efficient this laptop is at cooling the CPU and GPU in such a thin chassis. It's pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. I'd highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a desktop replacement gaming laptop that is ridiculously thin and powerful.

Best Thin and Light Gaming Laptop!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a thin gaming laptop with high performance as well premium aesthetics and functionality, then look no further than the Razer Blade 15! This is my 4th Razer laptop (owned the original Razer Blade and have upgraded every few years since), and there is a reason I keep coming back to them even though I always read and watch all of the reviews of its competitors before each purchase. This purchase was a particularly good one, as it was like several hundreds of dollars off in order to make way for the 10th gen Intel versions. I was looking for the best bargain so I felt like this was the right choice for me. Top features: absolutely beautiful mercury white finish (think Mac Book Pro but actually better), sturdy aluminum body, individually lit RGB for each key, the secondary symbols and extra functions are now lit as well (drove me bonkers that they weren't lit on previous versions actually), the speakers are very full sounding and loud for a laptop (better than previous generations), oh and of course I can comfortably play any video game on it at a high refresh rate including powering my HTC Vive Pro VR headset! The one feature I did wish it had would be Gsync for the monitor. It appears Razer decided to use Nvidia Optimus to increase battery life instead (which it has excellent battery life by the way. I usually get 5 to 6 hours on a charge with full screen and keyboard brightness.) Could probably get much longer if I dimmed the brightness a little and lowered the refresh rate of the screen to 60hz if I needed it to last all day, but I usually only use it for a few hours at a time and I am usually by an outlet. The fans do ramp up fairly loud when you are gaming, but that is with any gaming laptop and actually the quality speakers help mask that, or you can use headphones in which case you can't hear the fans. Basically it is just a laptop that I really enjoy using for everything, not just gaming, and it can do anything you throw at it well. It also has at least one of basically every connection port that you would need. I keep trying to justify testing another brand of laptop, but these blade's keep calling out to me! There always seems to be some fatal flaw that keeps me from going with another brand (i.e. terrible battery life, awkward keyboard placement, too thick, too "gamery" looking, too cheap feeling, or too boring looking etc.) but the blade always ticks all of the boxes! I am digging on the mercury white as a change to the last several that I had that were black. It also hides the finger prints better.

Well built and very good gaming and work laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace my older Mac Book Pro 15 Retina. The build quality of the Razer is on par with the Mac and the keyboard has more travel than the lame butterfly keys that Apple has, it's much more like the older Retina, although there is a little bit of jiggle to the keys, the MBP keys seem a little more stable. There are a few things to be aware of with the Razer 15, although none of these made me return the computer: 1) the keyboard layout is a bit different then what you might be used to, specifically the arrow keys are to the left of the right shift and FN keys. It takes a bit of getting used to. 2) the keys of the keyboard are white and don't channel the backlighting as well as the keys on the MBP15. This might be less of a problem with the black keys on the black system, but it's a bit annoying with the white keys 3) there doesn't seem to be an ambient light sensor on the computer, this is a surprise (in a bad way). This means that you manually have to adjust the screen and keyboard backlight levels... they really should have included one (or I haven't figured out how to make it work right yet) 4) it uses a custom 230w external power brickand will not charge through the USB-C port. I would have thought that there would be some way to charge via USB but it doesn't seem to, even when the computer is off. The power brick is pretty robust, but also pretty heavy On the plus side, the memory and SSD are pluggable modules, so you can upgrade them and the battery lasts 5-7 hours when doing work. When gaming it lasts 1-2 hours. So this is a good dual-purpose machine (and the main reason I bought it). I do wish it had a fingerprint reader for faster logins, the IR facial camera mostly works but sometimes I still have to enter my pin... it's better than always manually entering a password though. The function keys can be set to use the alternate function (e.g. volume, keyboard brighness, backlight etc) without having to use the FN key (use the Razer Synapse to do this. So it's an easier transition when moving from a Mac to this laptop. It's expensive, but a good machine.

No issues what so ever! Love this thing!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Personally I think those having issues are doing something to have multiple system replacements have issues and the same issue at that. Anyway, no issues with mine, works great, no CoilWhine, no BSODs, no extreme fan noise, no screen flicker, etc. All is well with excellent battery life. I've had this for almost a month and can't say there's been a single issue. I installed my own copy of Windows, and opted out of Razer Synapse because it's essentially useless IMO with little value added and a ton of resources used. If you ask Razer, Synapse "Balanced Mode" with Auto Fans, is identical to Windows mode without Synapse. If you have doubts, contact Razer to confirm. Custom mode just adds more speed to the GPU and CPU but the fans are still on auto. So might as well use MSI Afterburner to handle that. Only need for Synapse is for lighting controls, but if you don't care about that (like me) then Synapse isn't recommended. In conclusion, in my experience, this is a very valuable laptop, reliable, fast, sturdy and beautiful. NO ISSUES and I'm a month in.

Q: QuestionThis is the base model? This has two SSD slots? The specification says max Storage 512 this is of course incorrect.
Asked by raeven63.
- A:Answer This is not the base model, this is the "Advanced" model. Of the two models with the 2070 Max-Q listed on Best Buy, this one is a little more expensive but gives you a little more graphics RAM on the 2070. There is only 1 m.2 slot, so you're limited to one drive, and there is no hard drive bay or extra m.2 slot like on the base model.

Q: QuestionWhat’s the difference between this gaming laptop and the laptop that’s going for $2,399? The specs look the same except this one has “gaming laptop” in the description .
Asked by Vita.
- A:Answer Only difference is display Panel. 240Hz vs 144Hz. I would still go for 144Hz one as most of games you will not be able to hit more than 140 Fps anyway with 2070 MaxQ design.

Q: Questionif i purchase this laptop from best buy and get 3 year extended geek squad warranty, if i have issues with laptop do i need to deal with razer on the issues or i would go directly to best buy for all issues?
Asked by Thinking.
- A:Answer You can take it to geek squad anytime. If it’s something the factory warranty can fix they will tell you. If it falls under geek squad they’ll fix it. Either way it gets fixed.

Q: QuestionDoes this model have the 144hz or 240hz refresh? Its not listed but I didn't think that razer makes a 9th gen intel model with a 2080 that doesn't.

Q: QuestionWhy is this model currently $700 off, and cheaper than less powerful razer models?
Asked by KCMac929.
- A:Answer I have had my Razer for about 6 months and it has been great so far. I am guessing the markdown is due to the 10th generation intel CPUs coming out. I wiped windows off of mine as soon as I got it and upgraded the ram and Nvme drive and loaded Parrot Sec OS and so far it has been my favorite laptop (I had several comparable computers, mac book pro 15 inch, two different 15 in MSIs and a few Lenovos). I am also not aware of any major design flaws or anythinglike that. Hope that helps.
