This is an ultr-cheap D/A converter, and by the time I figured out that I needed to upgrade, given the quality of the rest of my audio and video components in the chain, the 14 days had already expired. You should take returns for a longer period, then hand back store credits instead of cash after a 14 day period.

Nothing but white noise. Checked with Best Buy and Insignia to verify correct hookup and TV settings. Same thing. Returned it (without hassle) for a replacement. It worked fine for about a week, then started dropping center and left channel. Tried using original optical cable, then RCA’s, same thing. Exchanged it again and the third one cut right, center and surrounds intermittently. Set receiver up on older TV with RCA’s - no problems. Pretty sure it’s just a piece of junk.
