I needed to convert digital optical output to RCA plugs to connect to my old amplifier. TV is a new Samsung Series 7 (7100) model, 55". Looked at several options on Amazon. Read the reviews on the Best Buy option, especially the ones about it not working on Samsung TV's. Tried it anyway, it works great. Just set it up correctly. Set the switch on the converter to PCM, and in audio settings on the TV set both outputs (HDMI & Dolby Stereo) to PCM. Very good sound with no lag or need to sync the sound. Set it wrong, all you get is garbled noise.

Used this bad boy to hook up a gaming speaker set for PC up to my xbox one. Works flawlessly and easy to hide away.

I recently purchased an LG 55 inch high definition television. It did not have the old analog sound Jack, no RCA jack, no 8th inch jack. It just had the digital audio jack. I own a Bose Cine-Mate that I bought 12 years ago. It works great and I did not want to buy a new sound unit. Quite frankly mine sounds better than the newer ones I think. I use the converter with the correct digital audio cable and voilà! I have incredible sound. My television has a way to sync sounds between the TV and The X ternal sound unit if that's what you want , but I don't even use the TV speakers.

I was looking for this product for almost two years. I am so happy that finally it arrives at store. It is very helpful is connecting my apple tv or PS4 with my bose speakers. Bose speaker (the one I have) only supports the analog. Only negative is - its price. It is very expensive for what it does, but I guess there's no other good product doing it, so I guess I have no choice.

The market is flooded with these little boxes that convert digital audio to analog audio. The trick is that they don't work with the newer Dolby digital audio format (a compressed format). They only work with the earlier PCM digital format (an uncompressed format). If you cannot switch your device to output PCM digital audio, then then little box will be useless, Dolby digital audio unpacks into five separate audio streams plus a low frequency stream to simulate explosions and things like that. So if you want that "surround sound" experience, then you need a device that will decode the Dolby 5.1 format. This little box just provides stereo sound.

My Samsung only had mediocre sound but without a headphone jack i wasn't able to plug it into my old school amp. This was the solution. In less than 10 minutes I was able to convert the optical audio to video and now the sound is fantastic!

I bought this converter to connect a new lg 4k tv to my 1990s sound system. This is the only one that works the best after trying 3 drefent cheaper ones. None of the other provided enough drive to push the old amp but the insignia does very well. Very happy with this one i highly recommend it Ps. If you get a buzzing sound you have to switch your tv's digital audio output settings to PCM And it will work petfect

New Samsung TV sounds good but to get even better sound I wanted to hook it up to a Sony all-in-one stereo which only has RCA analog input. TV has only optical audio output. Tried Bluetooth but there was an unacceptable lag in the sound. This device worked immediately. Sound is great and there is absolutely no delay. Set source audio out from digital to PCM. Would have preferred it if device had an on/off switch.

I had bought an Insignia sound bar, the sound quality on it was excellent. My only hang up was the tv that I have did not have the same output as the inputs on the sound bar. I tried hooking git up several different ways and nothing seemed to sound good. I finally purchased this converter and hooked it up and the sound is great.

First I purchased an adapter to connect Bluetooth to my old receiver, then I found this adapter to be able to play the audio from our HD TV too. (Had gone to another electronics retailer before BB who said this type of adapter didn't exist.) Works great, am now able to listen to anything that comes though the TV.

Worked great with my Samsung tv. Be sure you have the option to set the audio output to PCM only on your TV. I wanted to be able to use my vintage sound equipment and this did the trick.

This was recommended by salesperson when I needed to buy a new bluray player. Old player used the red/white cables and I didn't want to have to rework the system setup. This allowed me to do that.

My Home Theater's optical input stopped working. This device allowed me to get the audio from my TV, which has only fiber optic digital audio output, to the adapter, then RC audio cables from the adapter to the Home Theater. Voila!
