Although its not quite like the real thing, it may be a useful tool for someone learning how to drive a manual transmission. Nothing beats learning with a real car, but this may help. Driving a manual transmission can be fun and this add on somewhat simulates that. I've used it with Project Cars 2 and a little bit with Gran Turismo 7 and it works fine.

It feels more hands-on with most games, but it’s not a must have as there are paddle shifters on the steering wheel. With that all being said I’d still buy the shifter just for the more hands-on experience and it’s the cheapest alternative in the sim racing market.
