I did end up modding the shifter by 3d printing a small piece to insert into the spring mechanism, which definitely added some much-needed tension.

I thought it would be more realistic with a shifter, but come on… people suck at driving and make the real-world bothersome enough. Just let your game driving be easy and reckless. Otherwise… it’s great.

The H pattern is a little hard to get use to (shift into wrong gear sometimes) and really needs to be tightly locked down or it shakes free from the table. But overall I like it and am getting use to faster shifting.
