We recommend following these steps to set up your Ring Stick Up Cam in the Ring app:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Set Up a Device.
Tap Security Cameras.
Tap the blue I’m Ready to Scan button.
Use your mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code on the device’s packaging.
When a green square and a pop-up with your device image appear, the code has been recognized.
Enter the location where your Ring Stick Up Cam is being set up.
If this is your first time setting up a Ring device, the Ring app will ask you to use your phone’s location services to pinpoint your location.
Give your camera a name.
You can proceed with the device’s default name or give it a custom name.
Connect your doorbell to Ring.
iOS: Tap Join when the Ring app asks to join the Ring wifi network.
Android: If your device does not automatically connect to the Ring wifi network:
Exit the Ring app.
Go to your mobile device’s Settings.
Tap wifi.
Select either Ring- or Ring Setup.
Once connected, close your Settings app and return to the Ring app.
Tap Continue in the app when the blue light stops flashing.
Connect to your preferred wifi network.
Once your device automatically finalizes the setup process, it will be ready to use.

The down fall is that it only holds a charge for about 12-14 days before needing recharged.

We completely understand the relevance of having your home security up and running at optimal use. No need to worry, you have us here today and we'll make sure we get you up and running in no time.
The more events captured by your Ring Stick Up Cam, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.

Thank you for detailing the installation location of your Ring Indoor Cam. When placed in an ideal location, this device will provide you with accurate motion detection. We understand your concern and are here to help.
This Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detection. Since PIR looks for heat sources, glass will prevent it from detecting motion. You can learn more here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022650691-Motion-Detection-in-Ring-Battery-Devices
However, Ring does offer a Ring Stick Up Camera - Elite, which can detect motion past glass. Please reach us directly, so we can discuss this in more detail and help find a solution.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended in regards to alerts. To enable and customize your "Motion Alerts" when your camera detects motion, follow these steps in the Ring app:
Open the Ring app and tap the menu (☰) in the top left corner.
Tap "Devices," then select the relevant device.
At the top of the screen, you can toggle the following on or off:
Motion Detection
Motion Alerts
Motion Warning (if your device has the feature)
If you're having issues getting notifications, make sure you're connected to wifi and that your mobile device settings are set to allow notifications from Ring. Reboot your Ring device. Turn your mobile device completely off and back on again. Make sure Do Not Disturb is off in your mobile device's settings.

In fact the installer that was sent to install it was also surprised that the camera already had another using it! Although I was able to return it to the store, the person who claimed to be a supervisor, appeared to be so RUDE that a friend of mine who was shopping with decided NOT to buy anything from Best Buy. Although I was the store manger would call me, and two additional request for the store manager to call me… I have NOT heard from the manager and I question why I should do any more business with the Best Buy location on Lake Forest Dr!

total disappointment

I bought a wifi extender yesterday thinking that would solve my problem, but it didn’t. It’s made for outside & is black.. both features I wanted. My white INDOOR ring camera had been in that exact location for months and ALWAYS worked, but I wanted a black one to be more ‘invisible’ in that location.. taking it back today. NOT HAPPY.

Frequently disconnecting from the wifi is likely due to the wifi connection that your Stick Up Cam is receiving, but there are various different troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this. I'd recommend reviewing the information in this Help Center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. Not what I expected from Ring

It keeps blurring in the Windows 10 app. And it will only run about 30 minutes before stopping. Only recording is through an online storage supplied by "Ring".

Unsupported devices and features for Windows and Mac include but are not limited to the following:

Please note that while certain features and products are no longer supported by the desktop apps, the apps will continue to receive critical security and bug updates.
While subscribed to one of our optional Ring Protect Plans, you will be able to access videos from every ring, motion, and live view event for up to 60 days (US). You can also access, download, and share past Ring videos. Without this service, you will still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to the Live View feature.
