Misses ovet half the event including ones where the delivery driver put the package directly beneath the device, but at the same time, it detects every deer that comes into my yard, despite neing set thru "smart alert" to detect only humans. Menu is clunky and difficult to navigate. The device is NOT VPN complisnt, so it has to be connected to s non-VPN wifi router, and, several VPN locations on my phone resident VPN block the device. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Having accurate motion detection is essential in providing the peace of mind that Ring strives for. We are here today to provide you with information to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to motion detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app. To optimize your motion zones and ensure that the device will detect accurately, please follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the relevant device.
Tap Motion Settings.
At the top, tap Edit Zones or scroll down to tap Camera Motion Zones.
Note: If you are using a battery-powered device, you may need to toggle on Advanced Motion Detection under Advanced Settings before you can add customizable Motion Zones.
To adjust an existing Motion Zone: tap the Zone you want to adjust, then drag the points of the Zone to do so. Tap Save.
To add a new Motion Zone: tap Add Zone and drag the points of the Zone. Tap Save.

Not worth the hassle

However, I don't need yet another item requiring a subscription. For as much as these cost, it should have the capability for local storage. When attempting to sign up for their $40 plan, they want you to contact them in person. Not worth the trouble in my opinion.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We do not have any Doorbells or Cameras with SD cards in them. We do have local storage available when using a Ring Alarm Pro and Ring Edge.
