I had a very hard time not dropping and losing the tiny screws. Great to be able to see who is at my door and to speak to them without opening the door

To start the process, you will need to press the orange setup button. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) comes with the mounting plate attached. If you don't see the MAC ID or can't find the orange setup button, please remove the mounting plate. Huge improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my old gen1 ring doorbell with this thing and WOW what a difference in quality it is! It installed into my same existing angle bracket at the door, although wish it had the separate rear plate like the original as it would have made install with my short house wires easy. The difference in video quality and speed is night and day. On the original, videos were blocky and you couldn't recognize people at all. This new one I can zoom in and it's crystal clear. Detection is about the same but the improvement in video was all I was after and this delivers

The video quality is phenomenal and the sounds is great! I really like the quick reply options if you cant answer the door bell, especially the Santa ones. -There does seem to be a small delay in recording and motion because I will see them already at the door instead of walking up sometimes. Even with the sensitivity all the way up. Other than that its a great product! Can't wait for the flood light.

It does indicate when somone is close to the front door where I have replaced the original doorbell, but does not seem to alert when the car pulls up. I was carrying some bags one day and a package alert showed up. It did look like i was a delivery guy so I was impressed. Overall good experience and does make me feel safer knowing it is there. Pretty easy to navigate and view alerts / videos taken during an alert occurance.

Great features, easy to install with instructions provided and broad view of the area in front of the door. Love the ability to speak/hear with anyone at the front door, whether family, neighbor, delivery person, even from 2000 miles away. i got the Basic Protect plan after 30 day trial. Highly recommend.
