The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired-only doorbell and connects to your existing doorbell wiring for non-stop power. During the installation of this doorbell, you will be instructed to bypass the existing doorbell chime in your home. This means that after installation, your home doorbell system will not sound when the device’s button is pressed. If you wish to hear audio alerts in your home, you can pair your Video Doorbell Wired with a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa device.

Per her statement “it’s a great accessory for my purse”. Little does she know that it has a apple tag hidden on it. Now I can keep track of her, I mean her purse.

We understand where you are coming from, as this isn't the experience we want our customers to have. You should be able to trust your Ring Video Doorbell - Wired to quickly respond when you need it the most. Please know that we are here to help.
Almost all delays are traced back to the internet connection in use. If you haven't already, please start by rebooting your router, as this helps clear out most delay issues.
If a router reboot doesn't resolve the issue, you'll want to test your internet upload speeds at the location of your doorbell. You can use the Device Health menu tile in the Ring app to do so. Below are twos articles that goes into more detail on the test, results, and how to make wifi work for you.

If you believe the delay is occurring at the device, please ensure that your device settings, such as motion settings, are fine-tuned. Having settings that are out of tune can cause delays.
For example, If your motions zones are not set properly, you can expect your notifications to come through delayed. Here is an article that goes into further detail.
