But the catch is that you need to take subscription for getting the best out of this. You cannot record through any other mediums other than ring provided cloud storage. Also this is not supported with apple homekit right out of the box. You have to use other external bridges to make it to work but it won’t be supported for long as apple is stopping other bridges from being supported with homekit

With the optional Ring Protect Plans, you have the ability to review, save and share your video recordings for as little as $4.99 a month. Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for up to 180 days (in the US). Without a plan, you will still receive real time motion and ring alerts, as well as have access to the Ring live view feature.
