    This printer is a piece of garbage; it has been non-working currently for the past three weeks. Since its purchase it has been inoperable more than it has been working. It keeps telling me that it is either offline, unavailable, not turned on when it is on, etc. I had an HP printer for more than 10 years without one mishap and I would estimate that it printed more than 30,000 pages in that time (I am a writer and manuscripts eat up pages). This current printer can't give me 20 pages before I start getting error messages.

    This is a solid printer, they get you on the toner but you knew that. Strange you need two apps - one for scanning and one for printing- but it works ok.

    You have to have internet just scan. HP wants to get their claws into your info sooo bad, you can barley do anything with this crap without internet connection. If I scan a sensitive document why would I want to have their company people looking at my customers business?

    Overall - excellent printer. HP has made installing the printer WITHOUT the 'extras' much more difficult. For someone who just wants a printer, it's annoying. The printer is excellent for small jobs, and I always prefer a document feeder.
