The P being the worst. I didn't start using it until two weeks after I bought it and when I started to return it it was too late. I am a writer so you can see that for me,it's useless.

Keypads not working

Not sure if they will accept a return. The backspace and few letters won't type when pressed. Still can't use the laptop.

It runs everything like a phone app, but at half the speed. Used it once and shoved it under the couch where it will stay until they find my body and have an estate sale.

Chromebooks are different from Windows laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. Chromebooks run off apps like an Android phone or tablet so you cannot download and install applications or .exe files. If you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better.

Fails across the board

If I had paid full retail I would have returned for a refund. I use it with Google Docs and that's about it. I need to just bite the bullet and replace my aging laptop with another.

Yeah right. Can’t get the apps to fill the screen. But it was cheap. If I was going to spend $500 or more it wouldn’t be a chrome book.

Good chromebook for younger students
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Acer Chromebook 311 will make a perfect school chromebook for my 9 year old this year. This chromebook is extremely light and compact so it should not take up much space in her backpack. The mediatek processor is surprisingly quick, even for a chromebook, although it did get a little draggy with downloading and syncing apps from my account during setup. I used this chromebook for a zoom meeting and the camera was very good. It wasn't completely smooth when you moved around, but overall a very good experience. The processor is an octa-core design. My unit comes with 4 GB of Ram and 32 Gig of storage. Setup is super simple. I set up the unit with my account and added my child's account, installed Google Classroom and she is off to the races. I do wish it was a touch screen, its just hard going back and forth from a phone to a chromebook that does not use touch, but this is a basic unit and at a very reasonable price point, so it does very well for what you are paying. Overall , it is a very good basic chromebook with all of the features you would need to video conference and operate Google Classroom. It is a good buy.

The unit got so hot while trying to charge it created a burn on my thumb. I love Acer but this laptop is poorly made. This laptop lasted a month due to a poor charging port.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Acer Kenzo Chromebook 311 is a good deal if you're looking for a basic Chrome experience for minimal cost. 'Basic Chrome experience' means you are dependant on having good wifi internet access in order to use it for anything other than basic word processing or playing an arcade game. The 32GB of storage will disappear quickly and you'll need to become very conscious of your files - if you plan on doing anything offline. 4GB of RAM is minimal, but adequate, for what the Acer Kenzo Chromebook 311 is designed for. On the other hand, 'basic Chrome experience' is exactly what this was built for - and exactly what it delivers. And it does it well for an excellent price. For it's usage-scenario, I recommend it without reservation.

Setup was a easy and was able to tie it in with everything else in the googleverse. The battery life seemed to be a bit better o. This model than the previous 311s I have was able to get better than 8 hrs use off power which is a bit better. One thing I did notice is there seem to be no battery drain when it’s not on. I left it wlsetting for about a week and it came back at almost the same level as when I turned it off. The scene is bright and easy to see although it’s a bit small for my every day use. The thing that impressed me most was the weight. This one is very lightweight. Really could let even tell it was in my backpack. Overall it a great little chromebook
