MFP is multi-function printer. This printer can print, scan, copy, and fax. The benefit of using toner over ink is that a toner can print more pages and it will not dry out as it is already dry. So if you don’t print often, the toner will remain usable longer than ink. It comes with a USB2.0 cable but I have it connected to the network via ethernet. You can also connect using wifi, bluetooth, and it’s compatible with AirPrint. This printer has additional options that can be access from a web browser using the IP address or deviceName.local. You will need the pin number which is found next to the toner cartridge to access this. The software is kind of confusing because it may seem like you have to create an HP account to scan, print, etc. But you can use the print menu on the application you want to print from. You can copy and scan from the printer as well. And with an iPhone, you can do all of these without creating an account. I have scanned and printed from my iPhone. It’s pretty cool. You use the camera to “scan” the document and print. The scanner has a feeder so you can scan multiple pages. You can even scan to a USB drive. There is also a flatbed so you can scan books and magazines. This printer is versatile. I also set up a SMTP service so I can scan to email. I’m able to add multiple email addresses so I can select from a list of email addresses to send to. Each has a pin for security as well. I’ve been a fan of HP printers for many years. From what I remember, their toners include drums. The advantages are: you don’t have to worry about replacing the drum as it is replaced with the toner. This is also great as the quality remains consistent. The bad thing is, the cost. HP toners tend to be a bit more expensive than other brands. But in my opinion, the additional cost is worth it. I cannot say anything about the fax functionality as I don’t have a fax line. This multi-function printer is great. Not only can I use my computers with it but also my mobile devices such as phones and tablets.

Upgraded from a Canon Ink Jet Printer because I could never find the ink for it. I mean the black ink never last and I was over it. I researched for days before I finally decided on this HP laser printer. I ABSOLUTELY love it! Fast, efficient, only black ink which is great because using it for my business I never used any color ink anyway. Connected easily to the WiFi even though I tried to do a hardwired connection, lol but it’s cool saves me on energy without overloading my computer.

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw Wireless AiO is a speedy BEAST! Easily and quickly print, scan, copy (& fax which I wasn’t able to try due to a lack of a landline). Printing was super easy whether from my iPhone (via Apple AirPrint), MacBook Air, PC or from the HP Smart app. You should really do yourself a favor and check out the HP Smart app - you can do all sorts of things so easily like scan a document and print it at your printer - but that’s another review. This printer is ideally suited for a heavy user, a home office environment or even a small office! Easily connected either via wifi, ethernet or usb cable (included), you are quickly on your way to likely the best printing experience you’ve ever had. Once I connected to my wifi, this printer has never lost the signal.This duplex printer can scan, print and copy both sides of a sheet and print to one or both sides. An amazing thing - it scans both sides of a sheet via the auto document feeder at the same time. That speeds up a scanning job exponentially! The auto document feeder can hold up to 50 sheets and the paper tray can hold up to 350 sheets. Conveniently, the back of the paper tray can extend to hold legal size paper. I am appreciative that there is a touch screen display on this, but I would prefer that it be larger that its 2.7”. The included toner cartridge should last a good amount of pages before replacement is needed. Good for the environment, this machine is Energy Star certified. Overall, I would highly recommend this HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw to anyone looking for a quality beast of a printer.
