    My choice was between this vacuum and the dyson animal.....so glad I picked up the shark. We have wood floors and this vacuum performs flawlessly on the wood floor and has a separate mode for rug use that we use on rugs around the house. It was cheaper than the dyson and performs just as well.

    Just had for a few weeks but so far the Shark Navigator lift-away vacuum I'd pretty powerful. One thing I noticed that was a little concerning is that the vacuum engine and filter section tends to get hot fairly quickly. Curious to see how it his persist or desipate after more use.

    This thing really works great! We had a Hoover that we used to vacuume upstairs bedrooms with and it never seemed to work that well. We bought this last month and went over the floors with it after the Hoover had been used. It filled up twice more in two rooms. Picks up large dog hair very well and makes old carpet look ok again. Great buy.
