A: It doesn't adjust...it just gets stuck if the carpet has any thickness to it.

A: I have tile, hardwood and carpet flooring in my home. This vacuum does a great job on all three. The vacuum detaches in to a canister and has attachments that make vacuuming under beds and furniture easy.
