All I pay for with my cable service is for Internet coverage--and the lowest price available at that! So when I tell others whom I know that I only have 11.54 Mbps for the download and 1.01 for the upload (and that is on a "good" day!) people really find that hard to believe. On top of that I have my laptops connected wirelessly. This HP laptop Model: 15-BS113DX "breezes" through search engines such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge--not only for the written word, but also for music and TV program videos, etc. It has Windows 10 and with this feature you get Cortana. Just enter terms like file explorer (i.e., documents), disk cleanup, settings, control panel, degrag & optimize, weather, THIS PC, sticky notes, calendar, etc., etc. into the Cortana search bar and you'd be amazed at how easy it is to place icons for these and other functions on your lower task bar, desktop saver screen, and START MENU. Quick access to the aforementioned functions and other computer related functions is nice! Another valuable tool is the TASK MANAGER. There are times when I've encountered "scareware" which freezes operation of the computer and the message on the screen will direct the user to phone a number for paid assistance and potential compromise of security. With TASK Manager you can restore the control of your computer--without engaging in trying to get "risky" assistance. With this laptop, if you go into mouse settings, you can also place the Synaptics Pointing Device icon on your lower task bar so that you can control the functionality of this laptop's touchpad and external mouse--if used. Again, I only have a limited amount of Mbps and most of the time, I "fly" from one computer related activity to the next. At first, I did have a slight problem "fully" installing all of the Microsoft updates, but all of the updates finally went through. Many times, throughout the day, I will engage in a "disk cleanup" to keep things running smoothly and about once per month I will optimize my drives and I will also conduct a FULL Kaspersky Internet security scan. The following are of my choosing; however, it is relatively easy to download programs such as Apache OpenOffice (to type documents, etc.), to download (or set up) your A.I.O. wireless printer, VLC media player (to play your DVD's), etc. I use this laptop a lot during each day and I am very happy with it so far. Thanks, also, to the Geek Squad Tech Support team who I've subscribed to their services for 16 years--beginning this August 2018.

worst laptop ever, it crashed multiple times, and the screen shakes randomly at times

Motherboard died randomly after 18mos. Not worth replacing.

Parent got this laptop, if its not a gaming laptop or pc i wont use lol

had problems the 2nd day i had it back 3 times i returned it and got a dell

Had a lot of issues with all of them..............

It stopped working after a month.Missed a class because of this.

It was on sale when I brought it. I usually used for type in word and journey the internet. It’s not slow. For the price that I pay i’m Ok. I didn’t expect, it should very quick like MacBook. However, the battery life is short. It’s about 4hours.

So far, nearly a month into having the computer, I would certainly recommend this laptop. First of all, the display and sound system have really shocked me the most. I am certainly no tech expert, but the sound has deep bass and high treble, and the display has the ability to play 8k footage on YouTube! For a laptop under $500, this was quite surprising. I haven't tested with extreme CPU consuming gameplay, but that is the one area where this laptop struggles slightly. I attempted to play Fortnite, and I was able to play, but for there to be no lag I had to turn the graphics to low or maybe at best medium. However, when graphics were set to Epic, the gameplay did LOOK great, but was clunky at best. Overall, the laptop runs pretty smoothly, and only starts to lag when there are several tabs or programs open, but even still performs quite well. The display and sound surprised me, and I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a high quality, budget priced laptop.

I got this laptop a few months ago for my first year at university and it's perfect. It's not laggy and is good for running various softwares for projects and what not. It's SO durable and is good for someone that is clumsy and rough with electronics like myself!! Super worth the price!! Plus it charges really quickly! The only downfalls are that the material does feel a little cheap at times and I don't use the camera but I opened it out of curiosity and it's hilariously terrible.

Very easy to use. Setup was a breeze and has a great look, very light, slim and great power. Great for a small home office or general computing.

Good price the day I purchased this laptop. Good graphics for everyday use, sound is just okay. I was surprised to discover that the wireless card does not support 5mb only 2.4. Unusual these days. Good laptop for eveyday use....web sites, email, storing documents and photos.

Setting this up was a long and tedious process as Windows 10 needed updating and it took hours. I finally went to bed at 1:30 a.m. and it was completed. For my needs this is perfect. I am retired, age 81, and I research a lot on the internet and I do Ancestry on line. Today however I have been using it and it works better than the laptop I am replacing. It has immediate response now that I have used various applications for a while. We will see. What I like best is it does have the CD/DVD drawer and I used a CD to set up my printer. I have not tried to watch anything or copy anything so I don't know all of the capabilities. I also have a lot to learn as the new Windows upgrade makes things different.
