Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for like $170 and then i was informed that wouldn't even cover the cost to repair the phone. Nickle and dime by charging deductibles after that for things as basic as battery. Screen price is hefty too. Best part is they have the right to up the deductible at any given time given the market. The associate couldn't even give me an up to date pamphlet for the s8 I purchased giving all the deductables....i regret buying this already. Only can be fixed at a very select few best buys.

Exspensive protection

Hate geek squad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Take a perfect new phone...accidentally break the lens on the camera...think you eill get a as good replacement...nope!! Had to pay $170 deductible to get refurb phone...1st would not accept a sum card...2nd replacement had garbly speaker...3rd replacement you could not hear me on speakerphone...they almost would not exchange again because i already exchanged too many times JUST TRYING TO GET A DECENT replacement!! Well ive had rhis one a couple weeks...everything seems to work...but battery is not as good as my original... worse thing about geek squad is lonnnnng hold times at 800 number and once you get a person...english is very very bad!! They have a hard time understanding and i had a hard time understanding...had to reexplain many times!!!

smartphone protection plan

For the same cost, a deductible has to be met for most things now. Also, the one time I had to use it, there wasn't a comparable replacement phone. I was out of luck for a week.

Not a fan

I understand it is cheaper than buying a whole new phone but when you take into account the price of the protection and the price of the fee for covering an accident, you are halfway to a new phone. I would rather buy a good case and take my chances of not needing protection. Not worth the extra cost.

Won't Cancel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gotten talked into this plan, even paid for the full 2 years, being told it's equal to verizon's which it's not, verizon covers theft and lost of phone. was told they would cancel verizons insurance on the plan, they never did, so got charged for 2 insurances called and talked to some foreign lady that couldn't speak english well, and supposedly cancelled, still haven't received a refund back to my card on this. it's been 2 weeks

I broke the stylus in half, it was not covered. I got a scratch on my screen, it was not covered. Best Buy does NOT have a contract with Samsung to do ANY work, repair or replacement of anything on a Samsung product! They, then told me that I should of got a protection plan through SAMSUNG..... hmmmmmmm then why did you sell me a geek squad protection plan for a Samsung!?!?!

Not worth it

The screen broke and when we took it to them to get it fixed was told they needed to send the phone out and we would be with out a phone for 3-5 days. We had not back up and our phone is used for work purposes. On top of that, we paid for the protections plan then had to pay them over 200$ to fix it? Not worth the trouble of buying thei protections plan. they are not accommodating or reasonable.

Posted .Hello cece – As with almost all cell phone protection plans, there is a service fee when using the Accidental Damage provision of our Geek Squad Protection Plans. This should have been noted at the time of your purchase, and on your receipt. Regarding the timing, we do offer same day repairs on some Samsung phones at select stores, depending on the extent of the damage. In many cases, however, a replacement phone will need to be ordered in, which can take a few days. You can go through this process without visiting a store by going to www.geeksquad.com/servicerequest.

Waste of money!

The replacement phone is defective and Bestbuy wants to charge me another $200 to replace the defective phone. I am frustrated. I'll never trust the Geek Squad again.

Service plan fail

Not worth the money for any service plan

Not worth the money

On top of paying for the warranty up front! I can take it to any local repair shop and have my screen replaced for $129. By using the Geek Squad 2 year warranty I will end up spending more than $350!! Tell me how that makes sense?

Battery guarantee not good

They need to have a one day service for that. I can't be without my phone for a week. It's my working phone.
