    After killing an 11 day old computer with a coffee spill I wouldn’t be without it. Then there was a particularly frigid day without gloves and as I was on my way to see my GEEKS my freezing fingers dropped my computer on the corner and cracked it. They put a new ‘skin’ on it. I’m sure I’ll make use of my protection on my new computer too. I seem to have karma with electronics.

    I had the protection on my old TV. They couldn't fix it so they gave me a new one. ( NO HEADACHE OR EXCUSES) They stand behind their warranty. I would recommend everyone take out The Standard Geek Squad protection. It saved my pocketbook about 600 dollars.

    They were in and out. But they said they don't work for geek squard. they are just on contract to do installs. in and out, took the packaging stuff too.

    Geek Squad is the best warranty program out there. They have come to my home twice when a big name device decided to go belly up and they replaced both times with no questions asked after analyzing the problems. I normally do not trust any extended warranty but GS is the glaring exception. I would always buy it.

    Every warranty on anything that you buy from bestbuy it's really worth every penny!!!. Have always get it on every item that I've bought and it has become so useful, casue bestbuy always respects the warranty and exchanges anything that has problems for a new one without hesitation, I personally really recommend it!!!!!.

    Worth every penny. They replaced my Vizio 58 inch TV, purchased in Nov 2020. After verifying it could not be fixed they offered me my choice of several comparable TVs. The whole process was quick and easy. All it cost was the price of a new 2yr protection plan.

    I used to work for Geek Squad for years and customers who bought it and would need us to repair or replace the TV were so happy they did. Customers who didn't were always made at us when their TV broke and either spent a lot of money fixing it or bought another TV. I always get the protection plans, reduces the stress for when things go wrong.

    I have purchased service warrantees in the past with the hopes of not needing to submit a claim but have confidence in having the coverage due to positive past experience.

    Geek Squad Protection Plan

    Fortunately, haven't had to use it yet. But with prior experience with another product... It was a bit inconvenient to have to set up an appointment in order just to drop off and pickup for service. (This prior to Covid). And what happened to be wrong with product wasn't covered under the plan. It was a bit deceptive in what it covered when purchased. I was under the impression that if anything went wrong with product, it would be corrected. You need to pay attention to fine print, to amount of time of warranty and to specifications of what will be covered. Ended up costing me additional money to get repaired. In this instance, not worth the coverage price. Yet, on the purchase of a different product... it was repaired 3x's. Again with the appointments for pickup and drop off. (Prior to Covid) Finally, was replaced with a comperable item. The one I had purchased had been discontinued. In this case, the plan was worth it, minus the inconvenience of picking up and dropping off by appointment. It was just strange that they wouldn't discuss anything with you about problems with product without an appointment. So it basically comes down to what you're purchasing, cost of products and cost of replacing them, as to whether or not price of additional warranty is worth it.

    Money is tight. I usually don't pony up extra for some warranty the clerk's trying to sell me on top of the warranty that comes with it! But when it's the Geek Squad, I'll take it. It is SOOO much easier & nicer to be able to come down & talk to someone in person versus calling someone a 1000 mIles away that I can barely understand who gives me the run-around anyway! No thanks, I'll take the Geek Squad.

    It may initially seem expensive but I recommend getting the 5 year plan on new technology. It has come in handy for me on several occasions throughout the years. The purchase of this protection plan is on a TV that I received at no cost because the previous one was covered by a 5 year plan.

    We purchased a new Samsung television but wanted the extra protection beyond the manufacturer's warranty. The cost was a no brainer given the amount of things it covered. With options of three and five year coverage, we ultimately went with the five year. The cost difference was minimal making the five year the better deal.

    The guys were great!! I do have a question I forgot to ask. Can the solar remote be replaced with a battery remote? 2. Can I buy a solar remote that is bigger? Would appreciate if Matt or Jaime could answer those questions.
