i purchased this protection plan since last 5 years. i had 2 protection plans with them i got cracked screen which was not covered even with a lot of effort so i had to cancel my protection and the representative canceled the second protection plan associated with this tv. when i found out i spoke with them and they promised they will reinstate qithin three days but even after 1 month after every 3 days 2 hours of calls and telling the whole story to every 6 or 7 representative today when i again called one representative told me.they have fixed my problem and reinstated the plan again, i was so happy and to confirm i requested for repair and after 2 hours they said maybe it was a prank or what but they can,t reinstate my protection plan back, even though it is their agent fault but they don,t care about that i have already lost one tv within 1 year and this one 4 years i spent for this protection plan and now blindly they cancelled my protection plan.
A:AnswerYou are actually purchasing a 5 year warranty that overlaps with the manufacturer warranty. Your 5 year warranty will most likely end 5 years from the purchase date of your tv. The big trick and heist is the way warranty companies use the word "extended". You and I would assume that after the manufacturer warranty runs out, you will have an extension of 5 years. The fine print will tell you that this isn't true. The word "extended" can also mean that you are extended more coverage for a period of 5 years, with an overlap of coverage during the original manufacturer's warranty.
A:AnswerI was in your same situation. When I bought it i asked for the accidental plan. When i called to ask about replacement they said what i bought was just basically an extended warranty. Sorry you were misguided as well.
A:AnswerA Geek Squad Protection plan can be added during the standard return/exchange period for your product. 14 days for most products. You can add the protection plan by speaking with a customer service representative at your local store. You'll just need your receipt.
A:AnswerThanks for the question. There is no need to register your Geek Squad Protection Plan. We gather your information at purchase, so we should have it all on file, and be able to look it up under your phone number.
A:AnswerHi Jim - if you purchase the Geek Squad Protection plan for your new TV and it has an issue that is not repairable, but covered under the plan (ex, 3 or more defective pixels) and your TV gets replaced by BBY/Geek Squad under the terms of your protection plan, the plan would be considered fulfilled. If you wanted coverage on your replacement TV, this would require the purchase of a new plan.
