    Geek squad is the best part of shopping at Best Buy. When I go in to the store they are always helpful and work with me to resolve questions or problems. When they come out to set up or correct problems they are courteous, competent and are able to demonstrate how the product works. For those of us who are not good at technology they are a very valuable resource. Just know that if you need help during covid they are very hard to reach by phone - it is far better to go into the store in person and speak directly to one of the techs.

    Had an LG LED TV die on me. Brought it into Bestbuy, had to make an appointment to speak with a Geek Squad member. Next appointment was available the following weekend. I went in the next Saturday, TV was sent out within a day or so. I kept getting emails telling me what was going on. After 5 days or so they told me nothing could be done to repair the TV, it would cost too much. And I was getting a replacement. Went back to Bestbuy and they gave me a gift card for the full amount. If I didn't buy this protection plan, I would be out of $600. Needless to say I used the gift card to buy a new TV and I bought the extended warranty.

    I had an issue with the screen on a 65" OLED LG television. The television was inspected by a technician and was replaced at no charge. I am a very satisfied customer.

    I highly recommend getting a protection plan for any expensive item. Especially items that have in-home protection because they are to large to take to the store. My 60" Samsung Smart TV broke 3 yrs after purchase which meant the manufactures warranty would've expired. Fortunately I had a 5 yr Geek Squad plan. They came to my home assessed the problem and because they didn't have the parts to repair my Samsung they gave me a voucher to purchase a newer model as a replacement. I paid $220 for the protection plan on the 60" it was worth every penny! Otherwise I would have nothing. So I gladly paid $189 for the 5 yr protection plan on the replacement TV

    I recommend getting the warranty I. Any item you purchase with Best Buy. I have used the warranty on two different items and they honor the warranty and replace or refund what you paid for the item

    Geek squad has some of the best protection for customers. They’re one of the few businesses left that doesn’t treat their customer’s insurance/protection coverage like it’s a personal inconvenience to them, or operate it like a scam and not actually protect your purchase when you try to get them to honor it. I don’t usually opt for “protection” because it is usually a scam. I do at Best Buy though, because they’re known for actually honoring their protection agreements.

    If you determine that you want to take care of a device for a certain amount of time, and you decide the price is right for that item, then nothing beats Geek Squad coverage. If they can’t troubleshoot your problem, they will send a technician to repair it. If they can’t repair it or determine it not to be cost effective to do so, they replace your item within the time period for your coverage. I don’t get it on everything, but for something I know I’m going to be trying to use for 5+ years, it really doesn’t make sense to forego this coverage long term.

    This is my first time purchasing GeekSquad Protection. I spoke to friends and family about their experience and found it compelling enough for myself on my new display. In the past, I purchased a 65" 4k TV that had vertical banding issues, I went through the manufacturer for repair and it was a headache to go back and forth and wished I forked the dollars for protection via Best Buy. I also will say that the 5 year protection and price brackets are pretty competitive in terms of value. This is about protecting the consumer and I fully appreciate Best Buy and Geek Squad being very transparent about that in this program.

    The Geek squad team is very thorough and patient when explaining and deciphering whatever problem you may have. In my case, it was my old tv. They got a team to come take a look at my problem in less then a week (during COVID-19) and were very sanitary and took necessary precautions while in my home. They wasted no time and corrected the problem very quickly. They were in and out in 10 minutes (I mean it) Bravo, y’all are bomb. Get an insurance plan guys, because it didn’t cost me a thing (or a deductible) and they’re smart and fast. Do it.

    I had an issue with a defective product and after a lengthy discussion with customer support to prove that is was a product defect and nothing I did, my new product was delivered and installed 2 days later with the defective one hauled away. Had the customer service end of things been smoother, my rating would be higher, but overall i was glad I bought the protection and was very happy with how everything was handled once my claim was approved.

    Even though I did not buy the service for installation, I have used their Geek Squad protection and troubleshooting before. Most recently, my Samsung Tv which still has the protection on it had some issues. I have never had any issues with Tvs purchased here before, but after several years, the Tv had purple areas on the viewing plane. I took it to Best Buy and it wasn't worth fixing so they gave me credit to purchase another TV. I chose the LG nano series 49" Tv, which we all love. The Geek Squad service is a real good service. They know their stuff...
