We don't always purchase an extended warranty, but considering the quality of some TV's these days it was chosen. If the TV happenes to fail in the 5 year Geek Squad warranty, a new TV of same size willll be substituted as the original will most likely no longer be available

Bought it just in case something goes wrong with the TV.

Haven't had to use the extended warranty as of yet. Feel secure however in case the TV breaks
