This is a not a flight simulator, but still complex enough to be interesting. The story and characters are forgettable if not a little annoying at times.

It's just an okay game. I think Blazing Angels is a much better military flying game.

    Excellent Game....A Must Buy for 360 Owner's

First off this game is one of the best flight games available on the XBOX 360. It does have its moments, but to those of you that say the story is basic, its because you are expecting a movie, you can't do that especially with a videogame. You are the character. The point of the game is that you have to personify your emotions as what the character is feeling right then. Second off is that the levels actually give you some variety, if you played previous ACE games then you are used to one fixed battle every level every time. In ACE 6 you can have multiple battles that your assistance effects the outcome for better or for worse. Meaning picking and choosing the right plane and armnament for the mission means even more. Also the fact that those same assets can provide Allied Support later on is excellent. Those of you stuck on the Ragno Fortress level and the tunnel flying should take a look back at, Ace 04 and Ace 5 both had massive tunnel flying portions in them and they were still beatable. You have to be willing to adjust to the level design not just rush through it hauling everything you have. Finally the game is actually in a very modern setting opposed to what some reviewers say, the technology is where we are at. In fact it is truly ahead of what we consider modern, I want to see a flying aircarrier in real life. The planes are topnotch in fact they are modeled perfectly after their real world counterparts. Also with all Ace Combat series there is a secret X-Plane, but you will have to buy the game in order to see it. Oh, and multiplayer is an added bonus, but playing a game in multiplayer can come down to who has which type of missile over who can maneuver better. The better part to it is the Coop which allows play of a level from the game or a modified level by up to four players. Which brings teamwork in picking plane type and weapon type essential for mission success.

    Best shooter

The graphics of the planes and landscapes are much improved from the previous series. A couple of new things that I like are 1)high G maneuver makes dodging missiles and quick turnaround easy 2)allied attack/cover are useful unlike previous AC games but I think it's kinda silly that they will only attack when I tell them to. The purpose of a wingman is still unknown to me. He's still proven to be useless other than he'll warn me about someone's in my tail. I think I can see the radar and listen to the audio warning myself, buddy. Majority of the missions seem longer because the maps are much larger and more targets to destroy. But I'd like to see a few short missions with different objectives than blow everything up. Overall it's worth a purchase.

I have played all the recent ace combat series and i was over impressed and this game actually took me by surprise in a lot of good ways such as graphics, AMAZING campaign and pretty good online too. I love the planes and of course my two favourites (F15-E + F22-R) Ways they could have improved: Better crashing effects More planes (theres only 30) More realism. CAMPAIGN: 4.1 MULTIPLAYER: 3.9 OVERALL: 4.0 Outstanding

Overall, i would say this game was a good game and that most of the time spent on it was worth it. HOwever, there were some pros and some cons. First of all, this was a great game to play at home by yourself if you dont have live but can also be fun online but watch your tail, some of these guys can really fly. Although i had a good time playing the missions and buying jets and different kinds of weapons, i feel like some of the missions took too long, expecially if you fail one or to times. But i had a good time playing and i promise that if you like flying games that this is one good simulation.

i truly enjoyed this game. campaign mode has more than a dozen missions (15), with at least as many planes to fly, including the new F-22 Raptor and several foreign planes. each mission took me from 20 minutes to an hour, so the game is good for hours of play. if you enjoy flight sim and combat games, i would highly recommend Ace Combat 6. i do have to agree with one reviewer, saying that some parts are rather unrealistic, having you fly into tunnels. however, these are challenging scenes, and help to make the game a little more exciting.

    okay but not great

The graphics were great except that most of the cities are flat textures so when your close tothe ground its just a flat surface with the top of buildings painted on. there are somebuildins that are three dimentional butonly the tallest ones. My one true gripe with this game is the single stick control. If your going to go through the trouble of making a flight simulattion game as real as possible then follow through. Had the controls been done using both anolog sticks thegame play would have been supstancially better. If I do not mind the one stick controls this game would have easily gotten a four star ratting. To be fare I only played the demo but I will not be getting this game. If you are a flight simulator enthusiast this game might turn out to be a great buy for you.

    Aircombat and valor

Ill start with the basic aircombat, Ace Combat is known for its addicting, though repetitive, air battles. Also, with this installment, online is availible, though its not as smooth as the halo system, it can provide a bit of fun for anyone who has already completed the missiones. About the missions, the story line is basic, although the visuals are extremely impressive, some of the best i have ever seen, especialy in high def. The story line is pretty much the same as all the rest of the games, generic countries on the brink of world war, and some mercinaries. Overall, its a great game for any fan of air combat. Although dont expect much more than a militant childrens book from the storyline. sholly

Ace Combat 6 has to be the best Fighter Simulation game yet. Realistic graphics, good story line and themes makes this game a must for aviation fans everywhere. Missions are long and tough but there are lot's of things to blow up and destroy. The aircraft look, sound and feel like the real thing. For all you pilot's out there this is a must have

Didnt buy the flight stick but playing this series for so long, it didnt seem worth it anyway. You wont really notice the graphics until you get towards the ground or mountains. Online is great with free for all & team deathmatch. only bad is the limited co-op. hopefully they have dlc for that soon. If, you've been looking (and waiting) for a good flight this is the game. See ya online, flaming away of course LOL...

    Where's Ace Combat 7??

I've been a fan of the Ace Combat series since Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies (PS2) and I owned all of the games since then. The graphics are good. The controls are all the same. There are a good selection of aircrafts to choose from and weapons. What it lacked was co-op play. Ace Combat 6 was the first game that I played on-line and met many friends. Speaking of on-line, it was fun at first until people started to cheat. Anyhow, I am hoping that Namco Bandai will make AC7 and add co-op play.

I Actually bought for my best frinds b - Day. He loves it, and being a pilot myself i noticed that if you roll inverted and then pull back on the stick on a few planes like the F-16 you will most likely crash. The game is awosome i would definately recommend this to any one.

If you like flying games then you will love AC6. My only complaint is that the story is very childish. I wish it took place in modern day and had more realistic missions. Also, when I bought the game the disk had a large scratch on it and the instructions were badly creased. It wasn’t Best Buy’s fault because the disk was factory sealed, so it must have happed during packaging. I didn’t bother returning it back because I assumed they would think I did it.

I think this game is pretty awesome. While its not exactly like flying the real thing (I fly the F/A-18F in the real world) its not supposed to be. Its supposed to be fun, flying around shooting people down without having to have extensive practice. Graphics are good and the gameplay is easy to master. Haven't tried the online play yet.

I just purchased the game a week ago, and it has been enjoyable so far. I enjoy the graphics, and the story line is good. I tried playing online, and found it hard to connect to others to play. When I was able to play I was definately outclassed. I would recommend, but possibly rent first before you buy.

    Best Air Combat Game Ever

From the moment you turn on the game it feels like you are fighting to liberate your own country. The in-the-cockpit view is truly amazing giving you an amazing view of the battlefield, the sunrise, the cityscape below, or the skies above. The between mission "storyline" is well animated but really did not connect to me as a Soldier and American male, it is obvious this franchise originated in Japan, but these segments give you time to stretch, grab a drink, or go to the bathroom...because once the game returns, you are back in the cockpit...fighting for freedom. I bought this game while serving in Iraq and it truly enabled me to "get away" from things and into the game when I had downtime. The controls are very responsive and the camera angles and missile views are amazing. If you love to dogfight, fly, or strategize...this game is for you. I can't wait for the next installment. P.S. Spring for HD and you'll actually find yourself sweating and breathing hard as you battle high-speed high-G turns!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
