    Good inexpensive everyday use tablet

If you are looking for an inexpensive tablet with a good size screen for surfing the web, email, facebook, youtube, movies, etc. then this is probably a good option for you. I like the textured back of the device as it makes it easier to grip and hold (vs. say an iPad that needs a case otherwise it's too easy to slip out of your hands and drop.) Speakers are fine and front facing in stereo although they are a little tinny given their size, but most of the time I have headphones on when watching movies. Speed is decent for the price, but don't expect it to be as zippy as a $500 tablet. The screen only appears to support up to 720p HD (didn't see 1080p as an option on youtube for example), but is crisp and has a 16:9 layout, so great layout for movies.

Light & thin, great features in an android tablet

The white tablet's case, once in your hand has a great textured feel. The plastic embossed on the back makes it easy to grip and hold. Intial boot up was smooth and let me bring my android tablets apps right over from my gmail account. You have an option to add an extra micro-SD memory card to the internal 32gb ram. Either assign it for tablet's use or as a removeable drive. The super thin tablet has two micro-USB ports, one acts as the charging port. The built in speakers made watching movies, Utube videos, webinars etc., a pleasure. One on each end of the table's frame. The on/off button as well as the volume sit on the top, to the left. A special gestrure feature allows you to wake it up and start your favorite app. The display is bright enough in daylight, no flicker crisp and clear. I sync it to my Logitech bluetooth keyboard for heavy typing task, tough the standard touch screen keyboard works well. You can turn sound clicks on or off for the keyboard. The wifi is easy to setup and connected to my faster N-router. The android-6.0 operating system is complimented by a quad core processor. Great for video and email use and don't forget all your favorite apps. Swipe down at the top right at night and switch the blue-light Shied on for a better nights sleep ( especially when you check your last minute emails late at night and in bed). The monitor filters out the blue spectrum and creates a sepia like display. You can also check your battery charge, display brightness etc.,.

The only (And I mean ONLY) problem I have with this is that it only comes stock with 1 Gig of RAM. However, after putting it through tons of paces, once the Android is updated (It doesn't come fully updated so you'll of course have to do it) I haven't once had that be a problem with ANY app. The tablet has exceeded all of my expectations. It's super fast, has full access to the Google Play store, has tons of storage (Although I added another memory card to make it even more), and the graphics are crisp. Sure, it'd be nice if the resolution was more in the 1920 x 1080 range so I could watch Vudu HDX movies, but hey....if you want that you're looking more towards the iPad price range. Overall, this is a great tablet, and nice and big, too. Which helps if you don't have tiny little kid fingers like you need with some of those smaller tablets and phones.

Decided to grab this tablet when it dropped to $100. I like it a lot! Good screen size and storage. Could use a bit more memory, but runs fine if you don't try to load everything on to it. Cameras are decent. Overall, I'm happy with it.

After reading many negative consumer reviews I had to try this Tablet for myself. It has turned out to be simply great. The quad core processor is smooth, big 10" screen is clear, storage is amazing and doesn't lag much. Does it's job nicely. Though the Camera is on the poor side, at this low price its acceptable for me. Maybe not a great gaming tablet but really great for everyday use.

Love this unit, its light yet very sturdy. I have heard a lot of negatives about the operating system however it works great on this tablet. If you are looking for a ten inch tab with great battery life at a great price this is an excellent unit.

Let's face it. You are not going to get a high performance speed demon at this price. I paid less than $100 on sale, which is a pretty amazing deal for a 10 inch tablet with these specs. The good news is this is a fabulous tablet if your main goal is to stream video and music., It does a great job on both with barely a hiccup. A pretty decent, fairly sharp screen. Good sound from two front firing speakers. Beyond that, well, you get what you pay for, which is to say, this is budget tablet. All plastic. And this thing can be frustratingly sludgy at times. Which means the touch screen is sometime unresponsive, scrolling can be herky jerky, apps sometimes lock up. It works, most of the time. Just not well. My $200 smartphone is much faster and has fewer issues in routine use. Still, if you just want a basic bottom of the line tablet, hard to go wrong here.

Nice Tablet but not enough RAM.

This is a very nice tablet with a beautiful picture and it is everything I want and need. I have an Acer laptop and Love it so I'm happy with the brand. It prompted me to do upgrades which I clicked to allow - nice and simple! I have had absolutely no problems with it in the two days I've owned it. The sound on it is good and it takes beautiful pictures. I added a solitaire game so far and I have watched Hulu and Youtube. Love Love Love it! I also love the Blue filter on the screen that can be turned on at night so you can watch it in bed but still get sleepy. I'd love to keep it but I checked the memory and have almost used up all the RAM so I'm going to have to return it for a tablet with more RAM. If you don't anticipating the need for more RAM it's great.

This tablet is so handy. It has a huge screen and runs android apps so it is great for those of us who can't see a phone to run apps. It is also great for trips. Not always the fastest but for the price I am very happy.

I have an iPad Air, Mini 2 and a Samsung Tab A and S2, and in actuality, this Acer Iconia is not a bad tablet if you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to the "big" brands. It's got a big screen, decent sound and some nice apps and features. It can get a tad slow sometimes, but If you're looking for a tablet you can let your kids use and won't be too disappointed with if you decide to borrow it, this isn't a bad choice for the price point - especially if you get it during a good sale here like I did :)

This Acer tablet is a fine value, just about average with one exception. Some observations: Nice size screen, adequate resolution. Adoptable storage so lack of storage is not an issue. Not the lightest and thicker than competitors. Does not overheat when in use. Decent performance but limited by 1 GB of RAM. Not too many built in apps, Acer ones can be deleted to some extent. Fine for media consumption. Overall not a premium tablet but nice for streaming and reading,

This tablet is what it is. It works great for some apps and browsing the internet. It doesn't have the RAM to be overly powerful. But my wife did not need one of those. She wants to check out Facebook and play games like Candy Crush. We did have an issue with the charging port. But we had the Geek Squad coverage. So I had zero issues replacing it. Can't emphasize that coverage enough. I would only refer this to a friend based on their needs. It was a good choice based on price and convenience of being in available in the store...And we did not need a power tablet...But I might steer towards the Samsungs or the Lenovo Yogas instead.

It does well for a entry level tablet. I think with a quad core processor, it would be nice to pair it with at least 1.5 to 2GB of memory instead of 1GB. The battery is mediocre at best. Even on standby mode, it drains more than some other ones I've had. Other than that, it's a good tablet for music, movies, and surfing the web. Since this is a Mediatek processor, I didn't really expect it to be able to handle most newer games fluidly. Overall a decent tablet in the sub $150 range.

I purchased this during a flash sale for about $89 + tax. I knew going in that this was just a basic tablet, and that's all I need. The granddaughter watches YouTube videos, and I check e-mails on it and do a little internet surfing. It handles these tasks with ease. It is a little slow to boot back up once it has been turned off, that's my only minor issue with it. The battery lasts for quite a while, no complaints there. Sound is good, display is good.

This tablet is just ok. It has a cheap feel to it, but for the price, it is a great device, and it’s nice that it’s lightweight, even though that does add to the cheap feel of it a bit.

Good for streaming video but not without problems

This is a pretty decent tablet for the price. It is especially capable at streaming video and music, with a big sharp screen and two front fire speakers which produce decent volume in stereo. But it is not without problems. Limited RAM means it is very sludgy most of the time, especially on startujp. It is exceedingly slow to boot and always seems to be struggling to load and run apps. The touch screen also leaves a lot to be desired and is unresponsive a lot of the time, perhaps because the tablet is struggling with other tasks in background. Be aware that multiple OS upgrades must be downloaded and installed when purchased, which can take the better part of a day, during which time the tablet is barely functional. Give it two or three days to get everything updated and running. Also be sure to manually check if apps or OS need updates since those do not seem to download and install automatically as they should. Some updates are critical to the functionality of some apps under the latest Marshmallow OS (WEBview for example). So if you apps are crashing, check and update that first. Despite all these shortcomings, the price point is so low, its hard to complain too much. It's a big tablet for the price and if your main desire is video and music streaming, it's a pretty decent bargain.
