Just received my Acre Nitro 5 gaming laptop a few days ago. I love the heft and size of this laptop. It comes with 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a USB-C port. Upon getting all of the current Windows updates installed I downloaded a couple of games to put the Nitro 5 though its paces. From my standpoint the games ran smoothly without any hiccups or lagging. The colors to me seem to pop more while playing games rather than when I'm not playing games. During gameplay the laptop stayed cool thanks to the settings in NitroSense. One thing I would have liked to see is the ability to change the LED colors of the keyboard instead of it always being red. Also I would have liked to see a setting that allows the user to change the time-frame as to how long the back-light keys stay lit. Currently its only 30 seconds or "always on," if you toggle the settings. The chassis of the laptop does have a plasticy feel, however I love the touch and feel of the keys. A couple areas that I think Acer could have spent a little more time on is the display and the sound quality. As I stated before, while playing games, the colors seem to pop, however, when I'm using it as a regular laptop, the display looks a little washed out. And when it comes to sound, it doesn't sound as loud as I'd like it. Like it could be turned up just a tad more. Unless I've not found the correct audio/volume settings in MaxxAudio. Great mid range gaming laptop with a few features that are not necessarily a deal-breaker, however, would be great to have. Overall its a good device and would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid level device within this price range.

The contrast isn't harsh, the fan options are convenient, and the frame rate exceeds my expectation.

My son purchased this laptop and really likes it. It does what he wanted and it is a great laptop.

Purchased this new. Motherboard and hard drive crashed about 45 days later with light use. Best Buy won’t exchange it for a new one. Had to ship out for repair (computer gone for 2 weeks). Now I have essentially a refurbished computer after 45 days. I bought a new computer. If I wanted a refurbished computer I would have saved $200 and just bought that. Computers shouldn’t fail 45 days in. If they do dealer should exchange for a new computer like I purchased. I will not buy another computer from Best Buy.

After using this computer for a week I can say that it is pretty awesome but has two odd flaws. Starting with the things that I like, which is a big list. It's a smaller, lighter, powerhouse with the the newest 9th gen quad core I5 processor, newest video card, an SSD and HDD along with enough ram to operate efficiently. When it comes to gaming I've played a few popular titles with using Steam and I have to say that with the combination of monitor, processor, SSD and video card, had no problems running or storing games. While playing games it got a little warm but never hot, the fans were super quiet (and adjustable) and the keyboard was very satisfying. The things I didn't like are not really deal breakers. One was the placement of the power connector. Its smack dam in the middle of the right side of the laptop. The other is the poor placement of the home key. It is right next to the delete and backspace keys. If you make a lot of typing errors, like me, it will drive you crazy. With all that being said, I think this laptop is the perfect for gaming. It is the right balance of price, performance, looks and size, while still leaving room for upgrades.

I bought this for my gamer son. The screen broke down twice and Acer won’t fix it a second time. Not buying Acer products anymore. Very flimsy. Almost $800 down the tubes. Hasn’t even been a year yet.

Son loves this laptop for his games and u can use it For all other stuff as well
