First off, I absolutely loved the design of this laptop. It’s very sleek and the design allows for the fans to cool when playing games that require a ton of resources. I bought this laptop for both work and to play CoD Warzone and I can impressively say I run CoD on high settings without any problem. This was an absolute find for me and would highly recommend it to anyone else!

Nice laptop due to wonderful amount of storage. Speed is great. Only thing thats a problem with the laptop is that when you are gaming it lasts only 1-2 hours tops. When not gaming it lasts 4-6 hours. I keep it connected to battery whem gaming.

MY son got this with the help of his grandma. He loves it and even using it for home schooling since he been home due to the stay home order. This was a good deal and price as well. even the drive up pick up was nothing less of friendly and best customer Service. I hope when the stay at home orders are lifted best buy keeps this drive up Service.

Anyone whose looking for a top performing laptop that's affordable and fast!!! i use it for gaming mostly. I recommend to this one. I had two other options i was looking to purchase for the purpose of homework, surfing the web and gaming but this one was the most affordable and all the power you will need to stop it from lagging while your in player mode.

This has felt like a good purchase so far. Runs very well, and pretty quiet. The SSD isn't large enough to get really good use out of it, but I knew that going in. Besides, the additional 1TB HDD is more than enough for my needs. I'm considering adding additional RAM, but that's more out of desire than need.

My daughter had been using her sisters hand me down gaming laptop. It was getting slower and slower. So for her graduation present she asked for this. She absolutely loves it! Speed has been amazing! The amount of storage on it will most likely be more than she will use but hey you never know!

The first Acer Nitro 5 15.6 Gaming Laptop I purchased was a lemon that crashed shortly after turning it on (bad luck I suppose). Best Buy professionally allowed me to return the unit to the store and replace it with another one that has worked fantastic right out of the gate. I was using Windows 7 previously and found the transition to Windows 10 easier than expected (not a fan of Windows 8). In short time I've owned this, it has been a fantastic home office workstation and meets all of my gaming needs. I can't give it 5 stars because of the failure of the initial unit, but can honestly say that all has run fine since.

    Exceeds All Expectations

I have wanted a decent gaming laptop for the longest time. However, as a primarily console-gamer, I did not want to splurge on something that is $1000+. I needed a new laptop for work/school, so I figured I would pick up something to also occasionally play games I can't get on PS4. The specs and reviews for the Nitro 5 all seemed great for the price and it didn't look gaudy (so many gaming laptops have such a cheesy look), so I decided to try it. I am thoroughly impressed by this computer. Maybe it is because I have always used $300 budget laptops in the past, but this has blown my expectations out of the water. My impressions: -Design: It overall looks more subtle than most gaming laptops, which I prefer. The finish looks sleek and professional, mostly black without too much red and no cheesy flames/dragons/other obnoxious designs. While they use cheaper plastics to keep cost down, it does not feel that way. It feels very sturdy and solid. -Keyboard: Soft-feeling keys that have been great so far for both gaming and typing. They feel reasonably durable. The backlit keyboard has 5 or so different levels, which is appreciated. -General Performance: Superb. Having an SSD for Windows means my productivity tasks, booting, updating, etc. is extremely fast. The processor is also excellent. I can have many tabs on Firefox, spotify playing, word open, and a zoom meeting running with next to no slowdown. As a disclaimer, I added another 8GB stick of RAM immediately, running in dual channel mode. -Gaming: Even better than I expected. Most ~2015 and earlier games can so far be run at max settings with multiple mods in 1080P and at 60fps. Current games are also running really well so far at 50-60fps, 1080p, on Medium to High settings. For example, I can run Resident Evil 3 (remake, obviously) somewhere between medium and high settings at 60fps in 1080p and it looks gorgeous. I didn't notice any frame drops. -Screen: The screen is probably "average" compared to other current laptops. However, I have no issues. Colors seem vibrant enough, the contrast is good, and it outputs in 1080p for a crisp picture. For me, the brightness control is good, although some may want it to be brighter. There is some trace color banding if you really look for it, but I barely notice it. -Hardware/Expandibility: The fact that this has both an SSD and 1TB HDD is fantastic. I put Windows and all my productive programs (Office, Zoom, etc.) on the SSD for immediate opening/closing and then all of my games on the HDD with plenty of space. Games still boot and load quickly on the HDD. I also like that you can easily upgrade its components with more drive slots and RAM expansion up to 32 GB. You should definitely throw in at least another 8GB stick (only 30 dollars or so) as it runs in dual channel mode and probably makes a massive difference. All in all, this laptop is incredible for the price. You can do actual work/school and modern gaming, with room to upgrade in the future. One of the best purchases I have made in awhile.

Acer Gaming Laptop Whats in the box ———————— * Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54-51M5 * 4-cell battery * Power adapter, sleeve Pros —— 1. Full HD display 2. 1TB HDD + 128 SSD for speed 3. Value - Good pricing for the specs for a gaming laptop; 4. Excellent graphics 5. Backlit keyboard Cons ——— 1. Need to have more RAM 2. Should be switching to all SSD Review ———— BUILD QUALITY This is a 15 inch laptop and it is mostly plastic. I think it is good quality plastic and I also feel the bezels are on the small side. I actually like the red and black color combination on the laptop and the red backlit keyboard. I also like the way the top corners are not at a right angle and have blunted edges It has a HDMI out and 1 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.1 port and a type C port. The laptop has dual fans for faster cooling. Overall I think its a solid build quality but its about 5lbs in weight so I would think its a tad heavier but that normal for a gaming laptop. USAGE Now I tested this laptop with the call of duty game and I think it performs great for a mid-level gaming laptop. There is no lag and the advertised 144HZ refresh rate render the game on the laptop very well and very clear. The dedicated GE force GTX 1650 graphic card ensures that the game is lag free. You can also use the Nitrosense to monitor the fan speed and temperature etc which is a nice added feature. The keyboard feel very solid and has a good tactile feel to it. The keyboard is also backlit with a nice red color. The speaker on the laptop are nice and clear, however I would connect the laptop to a good set of speakers if you want to really enjoy the game in a surround sound mode; For some reason not sure why, the keypad is not at the center and it is towards the left. However, I would mot use the keypad for gaming nut rather have a good wireless mouse. The intel i5 is a workhorse and performs very well on gaming as well usage as a regular laptop Keeping the laptop on the lap does make it a little uncomfortable and it can get warm quickly . The laptop does not come with any office software so if you are using it as a regular laptop you may need to get the office software by yourself. Also, not sure why the laptops are all preloaded with a trial version of the Norton antivirus, I suggest getting rid of it an installing a free version of avast or something similar. I think this is a fairly decent laptop for gaming and for the price I think it is well worth it as it can double up as your regular go to laptop;/

I absolutely love this laptop. It arrived packaged in multiple layers of cardboard and padding, so it was in perfect condition upon opening it. Set-up took fifteen minutes or so, so it was incredibly fast and user-friendly. It runs perfectly, does well with heat creation, and generally is a great laptop for gaming as well as running multiple programs at once. I would definitely recommend getting a cooling pad, since the fans are on the bottom, but it truly only needs one that allows it to breathe, not one with fans.

This is a solid gaming laptop for its price point, and a good option for someone who doesn't require perfect graphics on cutting edge games. Have had it for over half a year with no issues whatsoever. Picked this up for my girlfriends' birthday gift so she could play Sims 4 without stealing my gaming rig from me. Will run it at max settings with all the dlcs and some mods and never has any issues whatsoever. Hasn't been used for anything besides that or youtube, so cannot really good into how well it'd handle newer higher-requirement games, but based on its specs it should be able to do a solid job as long as you don't demand max settings.

I Purchased this laptop when my husbands existing laptop quit working in the middle of his college semester. He had work that needed to be completed The following day, and we didn't have time to really look into alternatives too in depth. I check to see what laptops were available at my local Best Buy and This one seems like the best option. I left my house, got to Best Buy, found this laptop, paid for this laptop and returned to my house in under 20 minutes. Surprisingly it did not disappoint us in any way. Set up was a bit lengthy, but once it was set up and working everything went super smoothly and he really loves this computer. It was a great investment, especially considering how quickly we needed Something.

I bought this when it was on sale for $600, and I cannot complain. Yes, there are trade offs (monitor is decent but not great, trackpad is garbage, RAM is a bit low). But, I would still say the pros outweigh the cons. I use external mouse anyways, so trackpad isn't a deal breaker. I ended up upgrading the RAM to 16 GB (yes, it's one strip of 8GB, so you can buy a second strip to upgrade to 16GB). Also, the laptop comes with a 1TB Hard Drive and 128GB m2 SSD, but it actually has two m2 slots, so you can upgrade there as well. HDMI port for external monitor is also convenient. For someone on a tight budget that wants a decent laptop, this is definitely a great option.
