The installers had a sound bar in the back of their van that we ended up purchasing. Installation went well but the payment system was a bit antiquated.

Geek Squad subscription not a worthwhile deal

I was required to pay for this visit unlike these visits done under the subscription in the past and while the Technician verified the audio system settings for the system that Best Buy originally installed but he did not verify other TV and system settings as has bee done in the past. Current subscription only provide value for new purchases not for service needs for past purchases.

I just purchased a new surround sound received and wanted setup and connected to my TV. When the tech came to my house I asked that the receiver to be setup to the TV only when the receiver is turned on. He said it cannot be independently of each other and only works when the TV is on. This is not what I wanted but I let him set it up.
My 15 year old son came home from school and took a look at it and said it was hooked up incorrectly. He re-cabled it and now it works fine. I just wasted $100 on the Geek Squad

The best thing about BestBuy is the talent and knowledge of their employees. Try getting this kind of support from Wal-Mart or Amazon. I am a Total Tech Support customer. Great respect for these folks.

The Geek Squad folks were great! Professional, understood their product and had things up and running quickly. Set up an entire Sonos system with surround sound and additional speakers in about an hour & taught me how to use it.
