Wish we wouldn't have purchased this remote

Now that is beyond the warranty, we had to have the Geek Squad come to reprogram it. After spending $99, we are still having issues with it. As I said, we would not have purchased this.

They never showed up

Took a half day off at work - they never came. Had to go back to work - I got a voicemail after noon saying they'd be late. They never called me back or tried to contact me. I have already missed work to get this done - now I do not have anymore time to risk on them ever showing up on time. Would NOT recommend. When I paid for this service I had a nagging concern about the Geek Squad I was right - trust your gut and stay away!!!

Needs Personalized Instuctions

Unit is complicated to use, no instructions, very sensitive to touch, sometimes will just switch to 'No signal' and extremely difficult to reprogram. We will need to have a Geek squad to help with instructions. That adds to the price. Too complicated for adults who grew up with the radio.

Geek Contractor Remote Programming

Never got it to function seamlessly with all the components as guaranteed it would. Pretty disappointing for such an expensive replacement.

Dissatisfied

Disappointed and frustrated

My second appointment was canceled the day before it was scheduled with only an email notification. Then I finally got a tech to show up and he told me he did not believe my remote would work with my equipment. After an hour he just gave up and left telling me they would have to reschedule again. I never heard anything more from the 3 party provider or Best Buy. So needless to say I gave up and found someone else to install the remote. I do not believe I was ever charged for the service but still a very frustrating experience.

Very disappointed

Was very disappointed in the service I got this time. They did not set up everything and left without completing the job. Left wires unhooked. Had to complete the job myself

Terrible service.

I thought I was getting geek squad which has generally been good however Best Buy decides to contract with a 3rd party vendor without telling me that. He didn’t fix the issue with programming my remote control in the morning and had to come back later in the afternoon only to show me that he couldn’t solve the issue. A complete waste of $80, extremely disappointed in Best Buy.

Harmoney remote.

Remote programming of Harmony Elite remote

The technician from NAL Group was unable to fully program the remote (zone 2 not working at all). He was at the house 3 times to get it to work on zone 1 & stated that I needed someone from the Geek Squad to come out & do zone 2. I called the Geek Squad & they told me that I had to contact the NAL Group to fix the problem. NAL has scheduled & cancelled 3 times since I contacted them & told me that they did not have anyone who could do it. They told me I needed someone from the Geek Squad & would get their manager involved. Still no response from NAL nor Geek Squad. Terrible overall service!!!

Service failure and no response

Harmony reprogramming was done on very nice tech’s computer and he said it was transferred to the remote. When we tried to use it two hours later it did not turn TV / cable on. Left messages for tech 4 days in a row with NO response. Emailed his provided Manager’s address twice with NO response! Very dissatisfied!

Incompetent Customer Service

A cost of $99.This was supposed to be a charge for programming only. However, I was also mischarged for installation services as well (49.99). It is now near the end of August and after numerous phone calls to dispute the additional charge I was told by Geek that I could not get a credit so they sent me a Best Buy Gift card in the amount of $50. I asked if I could use it to apply toward my bill. The phone rep said yes which I questioned at the time. Well, the gift card came and as I thought, it can't be used to pay the bill. I was passed around to different departments continuously and no one at Best Buy or Geek Squad knows how to help. Don't believe their customer service help information. None of them knows what to do.

Harmony remote

Three weeks to reprogram a universal remote!

I set up an appointment on the 800 number noon to 8 on a Friday no show or call. Did the same thing again for the next Friday same results something wrong at The Geek Squad no show or call. Finally went to Best Buy had a supervisor set up the appointment for the next Friday and the agent showed up at 7PM. The agent did a good job and was done in 20 minutes. Three Friday’s wasted not a happy camper!!! Was told I’d get a $100 gift card from Best Buy but it never happened! I’m through with Best Buy’s Geek Squad!!!!
