Excellent Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't use it for gaming. I am using it for deep learning applications and computer vision problems and the laptop is handling it pretty well. Heavy beast with a lot of horsepower for the price. Very competitive price and excellent finish.

Just want I wanted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought another Dell - Inspiron 2-in-1 17.3" Touch-Screen Laptop, and had to return it. It couldn't keep up with my day trading software, and other business applications such as CAD and 3D renderings. This PC has exceeded my exceptions for a laptop.

Worth every (pretty) penny!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is an absolute beast. I purchased my 17 R4 open box-geek squad certified and it has been extremely smooth. The customizable lighting effects are wonderful. It churns out games like nobody's business and even for a TN panel, the screen is clear and sharp whether you're leaning back or right in front of the screen. The only issue I had was with the shipping. It came in a box that was about 5 times bigger than the Alienware laptop box and looked like it had been through he**. The sides were crushed and no longer held together by the tape. The laptop was surrounded by copious amounts of bubble wrap but It still made me nervous to think the computer had been thrown around like that to make the box look destroyed but the laptop has been performing great!

Very good - as expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this unit for a few weeks now. Set up was easy and performance is excellent. Easy to upgrade. Got a great price on an open box unit that was very clean. Battery life good when not gaming - 6 hours+.

decent rig for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.300-400 less than a comparable gaming rig. My screen has backlight bleed, its not horrible on mine but a common issue on R4's. Will be asking for repair when I'm able to, alienware not best buy. I would recommend using a black background in windows and checking for backlight bleed around the edges of your screen. Its usually the tape on the bezel that does it. Other than that its so far been flawless and I'm enjoying newer games at good fps with the 1070gtx.

Fantastic Gaming Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A well-built laptop for the price. It will tackle any modern game with 50-60 fps in 1080P. The CPU and GPU remain under 63 degrees Celsius while the RAM usage remains below 50% during gaming. It addresses the complex graphics without a hitch. The 128GB SSD and 1TB hard drive are quick and responsive. The Tobii eye tracking feature is useless and is essentially nothing more than a gimmick. It could use additional 3.0 USB ports, but this is not a deal breaker. Overall; I highly recommend the laptop.

great for those new to PC gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.super easy to get started. open box was in great condition, no issues so far. graphics are amazing (epic settings on Ark are, well, EPIC), everything seems fairly intuitive to me. battery lasts longer than i'd expect. bit heavy, but i like that. fans are pretty quiet imo and keep it cool. i've been console gaming exclusively for several years now, and this is quite the upgrade!

I've never been so happy with a computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is blazing fast, powerful and very futuristic. I really enjoy how many programs I can open, How fast it takes to render videos and how awesome it can handle demanding games. I'm not really a "gamer" but I am always in need for speed. Great for anyone who wants some speed in their online life.

meh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for a gamer i was not impressed-from the keyboard to the mouse pad-although i used my gaming mouse-the left click button was like it was already 1/2 way depressed-the keyboard is mushy-the sound is just below average-a 60hz refresh is not a gaming laptop though i am sorry to say-if you really want to game-step up to 120hz and G-Sync-IMHO MSI is a much better choice in this price range

Broken in less than 15 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought that computer on December 13th and after returning to Brazil, less than 15 days later, the computer known by its "SUPERIOR QUALITY" just got completely useless. The primary monitor stops working when the computer is used for about a half of hour. If the computer is restarted, the startup fails because the primary monitor is not reconized. A brand new computer that simply does not work for more than 30 minutes. I contacted Dell and it will take about one month to replace almost all parts of my computer: mother board, GeForce video card, primary monitor (LCD), etc, etc, etc. In my opinion they should replace the computer - It is not a usage defect, it is a factory defect - but i was told that it would not be possible. I am moving to the Netherlands on January 20th and Dell cannot ensure that my computer will be fixed until i leave Brazil (20+ days). If they do not fix, i will have to start over the proccess once i arrive in the Netherlands, what means that it will probaly take about two months to have my computer working.

DO NOT purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.first red flag: display driver crashed within 10 minutes of turning it on for the first time. Half an hour later, it crashed again. Choppy sound, slow performance. GTA5 was lagging hard on medium settings. It is an overhyped product, made by Dell, need I say more?
