Super straightforward install in a 2012 Kia Sorento. Sound quality appears better with factory speakers than with the factory head unit. A huge selling point for me was the ability directly wire steering wheel controls to the factory harness and map the buttons with the head unit software, eliminating the need for the ~$70 Axxess interface (which Crutchfield still recommends with this unit). Also note that the metra wiring harness for the Kia Sorento does not come wired for steering wheel controls (pins 16 and 17) or the factory mic in the headliner (pins 1 and 2) on connector C. I purchased a second harness and made my own wires to avoid having to tap into any factory wires as the Axxess documentation suggests. Rather than tap into the parking brake to access Bluetooth and steering wheel control options I tapped into the illumination wire as suggested by a YouTube video. This means I need to turn the headlights on/off instead of applying and releasing the parking brake. Do this at your own risk, obviously. CarPlay and Android Auto work flawlessly, though it is a little picky on the cable being used. Slightly annoying is that the clock has no option to be manually set and must use the GPS (not included in my Open Box - Good unit). My unit also came with a 3.5mm Mic, not the 2.5mm mic this unit uses. Overall to get an Alpine unit that supports wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay that work with my steering wheel controls and delivers excellent sound quality for less than $250 (including all installation wiring and dash trim parts) represents a great value.

installed the Alpine iLX-W670 in a Mitsubishi Lancer and overall I’m very happy with it, especially considering the price point. The shallow chassis made installation much easier in a tight dash, and it fits the double-DIN opening really cleanly. The user interface is one of my favorite things about this unit. The menus are simple, the icons are clear, and it’s very easy to jump between radio, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Touch response is good and everything feels straightforward even for someone who isn’t super “techy”. On the downside, the screen resolution is just okay. It’s 800 x 480, so if you’re coming from a higher-end HD screen you’ll notice that maps and album art don’t look super sharp. But for the price, and for daily use (music, calls, navigation), it does the job and is perfectly usable.

Met all of my expectations. Bluetooth works well on calls and Android auto pairs to phone seamlessly. Backup camera view in Alpine is clear and crisp with no delay.

I purchased this open box after reading some reviews about this specific model. The install took me a little time because I hadn't did one in ages, but was I got back in the groove it worked out well. I would definitely purchase open box again. No complaints at all!!

Great radio, fit right into my 2010 dodge with the pac module and dash kit. Ran the USB out the console to plug your phone and input Jack. Great unit!

Very faulty. Fast when working. But when it doesn’t forget about it. Screen goes black. People complain they can’t hear me yet the mic is installed right above where I sit in the truck. And lags a lot. Wouldn’t recommend.

This stereo is an excellent investment. The user interface is clean and simple, but paked full of options and highly customizable. The sound quality is crisp, clean and adjustable to all tastes. It can be as simple or get as complicated as you like. The Android auto is an excellent way to get everything you need while driving on the screen instead of fumbling with the phone, and has many options to make navigating and travel a safer and more pleasant experience. Its powerful and upgradable with the apline amps that hookup right behind the unit, keeping install clean and clutter free, and keeps the amp closer to the head unit for maximum optimization. Ive been a fan of alpine since the 90s, and glad they are staying true to the name and still providing top tier products. Worth the investment.

I bought two of these for my two 3000GTs, one with Alpine amps and the other with Boston Acoustics amps. It looks and sounds great on the car with Alpine amps. On the Boston Acoustics amp, the sub output is a little weak. I updated the firmware and tried moving the head unit from one car to the other. Same issue. I am not sure why. I turned the sub output to +15 and sub speaker level to +10. The sub output still seems weak compared to the Pioneer it replaced. (I Put the pioneer back in and it still hit hard, so its definitely some compatibility with the Alpine and the Boston Acoustics amp). Aside from that, the interface is nice, and everything works well.

Decent double din for the money. Screen not as bright as Alpine claims. CarPlay is a bit quirky, highly advise using true Apple lightening cable and high speed data Android cable.

This Alpine 6.75" Digital Media Receiver is exactly what I needed for my car. For the price, it offers a lot of features and delivers great sound quality. Apple CarPlay works well and connects about 95% of the time, which is convenient for my daily drives. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars because the screen occasionally goes black and won’t reset unless I power the unit off and back on. Despite that minor issue, it’s still a solid choice and perfect for my commuter car.
