Excellent little power house for door speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little power amplifier for those of you with the need for more power than a typical head unit, but at much less cost and space of traditional amplifiers. The amplifier has both RCA and line-level inputs (cut the RCAs to use line-level) as well as a dip-switch controlled crossover. Very clever. You can use factory speaker wiring if needed, but do not recommend using this amp on factory speakers. They will not handle the power, will distort, or even become damaged. Rated at 45 watts RMS x4 channels, this little power brick can be bridged to 90 watts RMS x2 channels. I'm running 90 watts RMS x2 (bridged) into a pair of component 6x9 speakers in a Jeep Cherokee and it works great! Way better than the 25 watts RMS that the Alpine deck I have provides. Although very powerful for the size, DO NOT use this amplifier to drive subwoofers. Digital amplification has come a LONG way in the past 5-10 years and the musical nuances are fully preserved. Make sure that you have a power source that can supply 15A. I tapped into an unused cigarette lighter right in the dash and was done with installation in under 1 hour.

Best bang for the buck 4-channel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for an amp that can be mounted behind most vehicles glove boxes, this baby packs a real punch! This amplifier while small, delivers more than double the wattage to your speakers than an aftermarket radio will. In saying that i actually had to turn it down after i had installed it because it produced so much volume even in an open cab SUV. The signal to noise ratio isn't great but for $150 compared to $200+ for a standard 4-channel and then add wiring on top of that and still have it mounted to a seat, or enclosure or under a seat where it can be in the way... no thanks I'll hide it behind the dash. I will recommend this to all my customers. Geek Squad Autotech approved.

Do Not Buy if you have a decent Headunit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to put onto a 2 speaker system. I originally was putting out 60 watts to 4 speaker connections from the head unit. I made the mistake of getting this unit and bridging it to 90 watts to 2 speakers. Absolutely no noticeable improvement to my infinity 6912m speakers. Same decibel level output with the exact same depth to the music. Tuned with audio shop near me, told me it appeared it was only putting out 180watts peak power. Wasted 160 bucks on this amp. May be a decent upgrade for a standard stock radio in a car or a very horrible cheap replacement head unit.

Where do I start....
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did not work for me. Doesn't mean it won't for you, but it was not what I thought it to be. The fault was mine and I've learned from that.

Haven't gotten it to work yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am connecting in my pontoon boat. My head unit only has 2 RCA inputs, so I am only able to run 2 speakers from this amp. I hooked the front RCA into the head unit & connected 2 speakers to the front inputs on amp. I connected the ground to the battery ground as this was what I read was best on aluminum boats. I am not getting it to work. Doesn't look like it is getting power, & I think it's the ground. I'm sure it works fine, but I cannot get it to work.

The perfect compromise for most listeners!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the piece the car audio world was waiting for. It's been out a while and I still am in love with it. Keep in mind, the ratings on this from Alpine are *overrated*. This isn't going to do 45x4. I see more commonly 35-40wrms per channel. Still double of what you get with a headunit (which is about 15-20wrmsx4#. Most speakers in the mid-level category love running on this, JBL, Alpine E or S series, Kicker, etc... this is a perfect contender to get that 'little extra' where the headunit isn't quite doing it, but a full size 50w+ per channel amp just isn't necessary #or too expensive#. You don't need a run to the battery in most cases for power, so install is simple. Keep an eye on the dipswitches when setting it up, if you look at the diagram wrong youll be 180* off on each dipswitch setting for tuning it, lol. Also, this is great to run 2 channels bridged to keep a factory Honda or Subaru sub working when replacing the headunit in some cases. Versatility, double what a headunit puts out for power, and inexpensive. Perfect for the casual listener who demands more than entry level, but doesn't require a ridiculously expensive audiophile system.

Amplifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an amplifier hoping it would boost the bass of my speakers but it did nothing at all. The sound is as boring at it was before even after the tech got the back speakers working again. Not impressed at all.
