The perfect compromise for most listeners!

This is the piece the car audio world was waiting for. It's been out a while and I still am in love with it. Keep in mind, the ratings on this from Alpine are *overrated*. This isn't going to do 45x4. I see more commonly 35-40wrms per channel. Still double of what you get with a headunit (which is about 15-20wrmsx4#. Most speakers in the mid-level category love running on this, JBL, Alpine E or S series, Kicker, etc... this is a perfect contender to get that 'little extra' where the headunit isn't quite doing it, but a full size 50w+ per channel amp just isn't necessary #or too expensive#. You don't need a run to the battery in most cases for power, so install is simple. Keep an eye on the dipswitches when setting it up, if you look at the diagram wrong youll be 180* off on each dipswitch setting for tuning it, lol. Also, this is great to run 2 channels bridged to keep a factory Honda or Subaru sub working when replacing the headunit in some cases. Versatility, double what a headunit puts out for power, and inexpensive. Perfect for the casual listener who demands more than entry level, but doesn't require a ridiculously expensive audiophile system.

I bought this power pack along with my Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS and i must say that it was a great purchase. I had stock speakers and saw an improvement right away, and then switched to after market speakers and was blown away by the crispness of the amplified audio. It has a 2 channel or 4 channel option with 60hz/80hz/120hz bypass switches. It hooks up in between the stereo harness and the harness adaptor for the factory wiring. It is powered by the factory wiring so no need for an amp install kit or anything like that. The instructions are pretty clear for those who are DIY'ers (Me) and i had no problem locating it in a hidden spot for less clutter. It has 4 female rca outputs so getting double male adapters or X male SPLITTERS would help wiring them. You also have the option to wire them at stereo level. All in all i am very pleased with the amp, saves a ton of time installing over traditional 4 channel amp and running a bunch of wires from the speakers to the amp etc.. Keep in mind this amp is for most setups that are average. It wont win any competitions but it will give you a boost to the real crisp sound you want to hear on stock or lower end aftermarket speakers.

Excellent little power house for door speakers

This is a great little power amplifier for those of you with the need for more power than a typical head unit, but at much less cost and space of traditional amplifiers. The amplifier has both RCA and line-level inputs (cut the RCAs to use line-level) as well as a dip-switch controlled crossover. Very clever. You can use factory speaker wiring if needed, but do not recommend using this amp on factory speakers. They will not handle the power, will distort, or even become damaged. Rated at 45 watts RMS x4 channels, this little power brick can be bridged to 90 watts RMS x2 channels. I'm running 90 watts RMS x2 (bridged) into a pair of component 6x9 speakers in a Jeep Cherokee and it works great! Way better than the 25 watts RMS that the Alpine deck I have provides. Although very powerful for the size, DO NOT use this amplifier to drive subwoofers. Digital amplification has come a LONG way in the past 5-10 years and the musical nuances are fully preserved. Make sure that you have a power source that can supply 15A. I tapped into an unused cigarette lighter right in the dash and was done with installation in under 1 hour.

This amp solved my audio dilemma. After owning an Alpine deck and the older version of this amp. I switched to a 2DIN Pioneer in hopes it would be better because of a giant screen, then found out it was actually worse. I stumbled upon this amp while talking to an install tech and mentioned to him that I just wanted to use my phone as a signal source instead of a deck or 2DIN. It was a mixture of simplicity and security (NYC has some rough streets) that led me to the decision of purchasing and installing this amp. The instructions weren't the best but were good enough to understand given some time. One of the setups within the manual was to allow for standalone operation with an iPod as a source. The people over at Alpine really went to town on this unit and I'm happy they did! Overall, the amp has very good sound output given its size and price. However, the pros for this unit is also directly related to the cons. I tested the unit by playing some music while setting up the gain controls and noticed it was getting rather warm within a few minutes of use. In addition to the heat, there was a bit of noise as I turned the gain past 35% to 40%. I would still recommend this to other people that are looking for a "stealthy" install or just want a little boost to their current decks without the whole wiring mess of a traditional standalone amplifier.

Installed In A 03 Grand Marquis With Polk Audio DB571 (6x8s) As My Factory Speaker Replacements That I Received As A Christmas Gift Back In 2012...Fast Forward To The Present (August 20, 2014) I'm Using A Factory Unit & I've Come To The Realization That The The Polks Were Not Getting Enough Power.. Thought About Buying An After Market Radio In The Past(Only For The Power) Then I Came Across The Alpine Power Pack. Bought It As An Open Box Item & After Hours Of Trying To Install It.. The Amp Wasn't Working So I Took It Back And Received A Brand New One At The Same Rate As The Open Box Price.. Kudos To Bestbuy. Removing The Head Unit Is The Only Easy Thing About Installing This Unit... Aligning The Proper Wires & RCA Wires Is Very Time Consuming.. Just When I Thought The Hard Part Was Over, I Had To Find A Comfortable Area To Put The Amp Where It Would Be Out Of The Way..... If Anyone Is Familiar With The Grand Marquis/Crown Victoria/Lincoln Towncar... Everything Is Tight.. Was Able To Put The Unit Behind The Cigarette Compartment.. Clear & Out Of The Way Now To The Sound.... Its Definitely Night & Day.. Much Clearer & The Bass Is Great.. Had To Toggle With The Presets (Equalizer) Until I Found What Was Best For Me... Definitely A Great Investment..

I have a 2012 Prius 3 with Entune Navigation, so I did not want to replace the head unit but the sound was terrible. I read the installation instructions and saw that it can be used with the same power supply as the head unit. I was concerned that wiring a bigger amp directly to the 12-volt battery might affect my MPGs. In order to make this plug and play (no splicing of factory wiring), I bought a regular harness and a reverse wiring harness. I spliced the wires for power, ground, etc, and wired this amplifier in between the two harnesses for the speaker in/out. If you're using speaker level output, remember to turn the gain down otherwise you will hear a loud hiss. Sounds great! The sound quality is consistent with both the volume high and low. My friends noticed the difference without me mentioning I installed an amp. However, don't expect this to produce neighbor-annoying sound volumes. This amp does less amplifying and more signal "cleaning".

This is a great little amp if you buy good speakers and don't want to run a bunch of wires. My A4 factory system sounded pretty bad. I started off with a new Pioneer head unit and that helped, but it would distort at high volume. Next I bought four 2ohm component speakers that were said to run fine on low rms wattage. They did not. I when with the power pack because 45 watts rms would be plenty and it looked small plus I wouldn't have to run a bunch of wires. The system gets pretty loud now, but the best part is, it remains crystal clear. My days of booming bass are long over, but has my system sounding louder and most importantly, cleaner than any of my old cars. The amp fits perfect in the top rack in my glove box. When I bridged the amp (90 watts rms), it actually gave the front speakers too much power. The speaker are rated at 2-90 watts rms. overall I would say I'm very happy.

installed this on my corolla 94 sedan driving Alpine SPS-610C speakers. This amp truly drives these speakers very well. at high SPL levels, the sound barely distorts and amp seems to be able to handle feeding the speakers clean sound. the amp also runs cool (barely warm) even during loud listening sessions. now i am not comparing this amp to larger more powerful units that shred out 300 to 1000 watts, they are a different breed what this amp does it it provides music that adult listeners normally listen to and can handle different forms of music very well. the amp powers my front and rear speakers (all alpines ) and i get a sense that the music is engaging and the beat is musical. i don't feel tired nor searching for the music rhythm even when i am stuck in traffic. the amp drive the SPS-610c with an engaging beat and musicality. one thing about this setup is you will be wanting more bass or lower end kick as the speakers do not deliver that kind of punch. other than that, i give the amp an excellent rating !

I had aftermarket speakers put in my Nissan Rogue Sport, while they sound great, the factory head unit was not pushing enough power to go loud and my rears essentially were worthless. The BB installers asked if I do subwoofers, I said no, they then recommended this as it is cheaper and gives you the missing power. I took them up on it and it made my aftermarket speakers feel like a real investment. I hear sounds I did not hear before this baby was installed. Best part??? It's hidden. If you get this be ready to buy extra stuff for the install, not everything you need is in the box, for my FACTORY stereo they added in a factory amp line bypass, 2 sets of Kicker RCA cables, install for Amp and install for bypass. PLUS unit cost. They also took the time to price match to get cost down for me.

for an amp that can be mounted behind most vehicles glove boxes, this baby packs a real punch! This amplifier while small, delivers more than double the wattage to your speakers than an aftermarket radio will. In saying that i actually had to turn it down after i had installed it because it produced so much volume even in an open cab SUV. The signal to noise ratio isn't great but for $150 compared to $200+ for a standard 4-channel and then add wiring on top of that and still have it mounted to a seat, or enclosure or under a seat where it can be in the way... no thanks I'll hide it behind the dash. I will recommend this to all my customers. Geek Squad Autotech approved.

My old Braun Flex series gave out, or really the battery pack did. I guess I could have cracked the case and tried to replace the battery pack but it's at least 10 years old so I figured I'd try a new one. I've tried the rotary styles in the past and they never shaved my neck whiskers as well as the foil type, though they actually shave my cheek whiskers a touch closer. Anyway, overall the foils work better for me and I was pleased with my last Braun so I saw no reason to change. I bought this one based on pretty good reviews plus I caught it on sale for about $120. I'm pleased with it. It shaves at least as good as my old one. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I can't really tell that it shaves any better than my last one. I was really hoping 10 years or so of advancements would have yielded noticeably better results. Still, I do recommend it and would buy it again.

My new car need a serious sound upgrade yet on a budget. I don't need a thumper setup. Replaced four of the speakers with outstanding 6x9 JBL GX 963 speakers which sound great yet the stock amp needed to be turned up to 80% to bring them out. Hard to have a conversation at that level. Research my options and choose the Alpine power pack. Bam that did the trick. Clarity at every volume is clear and pure. Now these speakers sound like you are really hearing your music live. Volume is huge. What use to take 80% max volume now takes about 33%. Turned it up to the 80% level and almost went deaf. I can get my Led out now with this great little power pack behind my dash. Love my sound now.

The Alpine amp fits in the dash of my Tacoma above the head unit, the wires were long enough for it to be mounted out of the way in the tight space. It uses the same power source as the head unit, so you don't have to worry about running new cables. It's relatively powerful for such a small amp. I only have the gains set to the the 1/4 turn mark and control the overall volume at the head unit. I would recommend this amp to anyone with space or power concerns and looking to increase the output of their factory or aftermarket unit. I ordered factory harness adapters to make it easier to connect to the Toyota wiring harness.

Had this amp installed with 2 pairs of JBL 6X9 3 way speakers. Couldn't be happier. Outstanding extra power. About 60 watts RMS with these low resistance ohm speakers. About 840 watts thru all 4- 3 way speakers. Hear stuff I didn't even know was there before. can go over about 80% volume without my ears bleeding and the factory speaker wires starting to overheat. Plus it hides underneath your cars console. No one knows it there. Great value if you want to turn the volume up

Cheaper than Kicker's alternative. Small enough to fit two of these amps beneath one rear seat in a WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee (1999-2004) and also small enough to fit one or two inside the central console (with removal of console). Inconsistent output for all four channels. Works best as a bridged unit for 2 Channel operation. More consistent operation with speaker lead inputs than RCA inputs. I suggest splicing into amp wires rather than clipping RCA connections off. Amp remote power wires in and out are on opposite sides of where they should be for convenience. I don't recommend these for any quality speaker requiring an RMS above 200w.

Bought it to power my Accord's speakers after switching to an aftermarket head unit (which puts out less power than the "premium" stock amplifier. Used a set of preouts to send signal to all four speakers. 2 stock and 2 Kicker CSs. The stocks cannot handle 45W RMS but the Kickers can go up to twice that. No matter, this amplifier gets all speakers loud as heck. Mounting hardware is included but I couldn't get the vertical bracket attached because I ruined the Phillips screw head by using a smaller-than-necessary screwdriver. BEWARE THIS! Sounds great and the HPF works great. Good value for something so compact that can put out so much power.

On looking into an amp and stereo for our son's very old Ford Ranger, I didn't want a big wattage system, just something that boosted the output and pushed the speakers to better clarity. I was shown this amp by the pro at BB and was very impressed. We got it and elected to install it as an inline amp ourselves. With only a minor issue (dead stereo unit) and a 1 crossed wire, the install was fairly painless. Since it uses the power out of the stereo, we didn't even have to buy an extra line or anything. My son loves it and it really performs well. It's a great 'hack' instead of buying a Punch or Rockford Fosgate Amp at 2 or 3 times the price. No, it's not complicated, but yes, it works great.

This amp is awesome. It powers all 12 of my speakers so well that my kids complain when the volume is at 6. I've had it as high as 16 and could barely stand it because it's so loud. I really don't know how high the maximum volume is because my ears would explode. I mean this in the best possible way. It gets louder, NOT distorted. I coupled this with the Alpine CDE BT137HD head unit (see that review for further info) After a worthless, expensive, more bells than whistles Sony touch screen head unit that I replaced in a matter of weeks, this is so much more bang for the buck!

My 2016 Chevy Colorado came equipped with MyLink. But Chevy used pitiful amplification from the head unit. 2nd row door speakers were of no effect. Adding this Kenwood amp and a set of 6.5 Infinity speakers to the 2nd row has brought the truck back from stereo purgatory. The Best Buy techs went the extra mile and helped tune the bass crossover and overall amp output to fit the cabin. THEIR HELP WAS INDISPENSABLE. This is the aftermarket answer for making the non Bose MyLink worth keeping.

I purchased two of these to go with two sets of Alpine component speakers. The Geek Squad installer explained that I could get away with using just one of these but added that for the price and features that it would be even better to get one amp for each set of speakers to maximize the power each set gets. Glad I went with this. I've been a big fan of Alpine amps and their speakers. The Alpine amps always work consistently and never have any issues with clipping or overheating. So far these little powerhouses are working great and I fully expect it will continue to go that way. Hope this helps. Thanks. Matthew 7:12.
