The Kicker is about the same size but uses a rediculously large power 8-10. Guage wire for power. Requires a new run of amp wire to the battery for just a 45 watt amp. The Alpine is normal power wire that is tied in to key on power in the vehicle.

I must say I knew nothing about this type of equipment until I got to the store the people that waited on me excellent gave me advice on which one's better which ones were more expensive which ones best suited me I ended up buying a middle of the line instead of top-of-the-line I'm happy.
