So far so good we've used it for reminders and the timers that you can set on it as well as listen to some of our favorite music on it.

I realize that many people will believe that this product is a cynical attempt to pump up Amazon's profits, and I'm sure it contributes, but don't deny yourself the serious fun this device will bring into your home! We originally bought this as a gift for my seeing-impaired mother-in-law in order for her to enjoy trivia, music and audio books with a hands-free interface. We didn't anticipate enjoying it ourselves so much that I'm not sure we're going to be willing to let it go!!! Setup is dead simple if you already have an Amazon Prime account and wireless Internet access. The audio quality and the unit's ability to cut through ambient noise in order to hear you are remarkable. The device is solidly built and has several nice ergonomic touches such as the rotating, color changing ring of lights that let you know you are being heard to the rotating volume ring at the top of the unit. It is amazing what the Echo can do. I'll leave the voyage of discovery up to each of you. Do get used to hearing "Hmmm, I'm not sure about that" or "I'm still learning about...." but I am certain that the Echo's cloud based "brain" will only get better with time. Do yourself a favor and get one of these, the whole family will enjoy it!

I purchased this for a steal at 99$ from best buy. I love all things Alexa and this item arrived on time and in perfect condition.

We love our Echo! We use it to control our Hue Smart Bulbs in several rooms, listen to loads of music, get the weather forecast, add things to our Google calendar, make a shopping list ( that Alexa will email to you) and are still adding "skills" all the time. The voice recognition is impressive. We like this so much we bought an Echo Dot for our bedroom

This is our second tower that we have bought...we also have two echo dots in the bedrooms! Every house should have at least one!

It’s basically a Siri for your home which is more convenient than it sounds and it has a really good speaker for parties and such.

There are many things I love about the Amazon Echo. It reads me the news every morning. News that is tailored to my interests. It will do simple calculations or set reminders and alarms. But most importantly it interfaces with my Smartthings hub and allows me to control all the lights and electrical devices in my house as well as the temperature with my voice.

While I haven't even begun to use all of the functions of the Echo, it has already shown that it is worth the price paid. It is entertaining, convenient, and just plain functional. The quality of the sound is fantastic, and yes, like other reviewers have said, it would be nice if it could be used in conjunction with a subwoofer. Even so, we are satisfied.

We love this so much. Adding all the home-automation skills this device offers has made a really cool change in our daily activities. Just speaking to Alexa keeps our grocery list and calendar fully up to date...and with such little effort. The quality of the speaker is also very good....it's pretty much replaced the stereo in our living areas.

I love it, we have 3 in our home and this one was for my mother in law and we'll definitely be giving out a few for Christmas.

I Used rely on Siri on the iphone prior to buying this and do not use Siri anymore since I started using Alexa. I activate siri on my phone and address it as Alexa. The voice recognition is awesome compared to any other assistant like Siri. You can speak from any corner in the room and it will capture it. I automated my home with this and we love it.

These things are Absolutely awesome, we truly use it everyday! It's fun and easy to use... Everyone in our house loves it!

This device allows you to verbally check everyday questions instead of typing on ur phone. Great sounding when playing songs.

Skeptical at first - did a lot of research & was a vanity purchase that has turned into one of the most function home devices I own! Timer in the kitchen - done. Quick weather check - done. Order something from Amazon - done. Throwing a party & need tunes + great speaker - done. Alexa will continue to get better & the Echo gets smarter as you use it.

The Echo is great for listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks and even playing games (Jeopardy is fun). There are technical glitches here and there, but for the most part Alexa does what you expect.

The entire family loves the amazon echo...everyone from my six year old son to my mother!! Every household should have one!!

I love this echo. It's literally one of my favorite gifts that I purchased for my family. We love how it understands very well and does almost exactly what we say. Whenever I forget something for food shopping I literally ask Alexa to put it in my cart and it does just that! It's the perfect little helper around the house. Just what I needed!
