Possibly a bad unit

It seemed the Echo I purchased had a difficult time unterstanding my requests and I often had to repeat myself. English is my first language and I don’t have an accent. I’m going to return the Echo and exchange it to see if it was possibly a faulty unit. But based on this initial experience with the Echo, repeating myself over and over was extremely aggravating.
