It's convenient to the point of absurd, but it's the possibilities of staying away from screens more and more what is truly fantastic. Simple things like setting your alarm, turning lights off or more complex like setting an appointment or making a phone call without actually being close to your phone is what I think needs to be more and more prominent in our society and Echo helps you get there. I look forward to seeing where it evolves as a part of our lives.

A friend gave us a echo dot and that was nice. I bought a smart light but it turns out I needed a hub. Did some research and this echo plus has it built in. Tried it out and everything worked perfect. Great device to control lights and play music, set alarms, and you can have it do so much.

If you want a smart home with automation, voice and smart phone interfacing, and quality of life features, this is the place to start. Often times, the smart devices that you intend to hook up to your smart home require a proprietary hub comma or a third party hub. This Echo has the capabilities of a zigbee hub built in, simplifying the connectivity process for many basic devices like bulbs, motion sensors, switches, and the like. The only competition on the smart home front comes from Google Home, and I recommend prospective customers look up the differences and make their own decision regarding which ecosystem fits their needs.

When I received this Echo Plus in the mail I noticed there was a small crack around the light ring. Now I could have kept it and used it with the crack, it really was small, but Amazon is such an amazing company that they sent a replacement that same day! So awesome! I spent the next hour deciding where I could best use the Philips hue lightbulb and TP-Link plug I purchased with the Echo Plus on cyber Monday. After the initial set up of the above mentioned accessories, the time to play with said accessories was about to begin. Now, If you haven't tried your hand at smart home automation, there is a bit of an expense that will be required to start. You can buy a wide variety of smart home hubs here on Amazon, but I would suggest you buy the Echo Plus. With the Philips hub built in, its the best price IMO. Once you have decided which you'll be purchasing, you'll then need to purchase the required accessories. Again, Amazon has plenty to chose from. I would strongly recommend this product!

Great for controlling lights in our home. We have a corner pole lamp with three bulbs that used to be a real pain to turn on and off because you had to squeeze by the end of the couch to reach the switch. Plus, the lights were either on or off but would not dim. With Alexa and Phillips Hue bulbs, however, we can tell Alexa to turn each light on or off individually or even dim it. Or, since we grouped the lights together and gave the group a separate name, we can issue one command to turn all three lights on or off or dim at the same time. Love it because of this but Alexa is also great at many other things,

Love this thing ! I have linked it to my Hue System and my Fire TV. I ask her and she does it. Fun to play games also. My wife was sceptical but now she uses it more than me

Not too technical to set up, easy instructions. Make sure you read directions first before set up.

I purchased this Amazon Echo Plus for my son as a Christmas gift (but I got one for Christmas as well). The Echo Plus is the best addition to my home in YEARS! I love walking in and telling her to "Play Coldplay" and have her shuffle songs by Coldplay (or whichever band I'm feeling like hearing that day) for me. I also love having her wake me up in the morning with a gentle alarm. Every day I try to see what new thing I can discover with her! Question of the day is great! She tells us jokes, the weather, I can ask her to identify who sings the song shes playing... SO many great things! I love my Amazon Echo!!

Bought this and a dot for my home works fairly well with my devices not perfedct but works well

I purchased this as a second Alexa. Couldn't figure out why it came with the Hue Light bulb until I learned that the new version of Alexa has a built-in hub. It's a gift for my spouse, but I can't wait to set it up and get more bulbs to automate our home lighting.

Great product, easier set up than anticipated. Actually bought for my Mother - she loves it.

If you are just starting out with the whole “smart home” thing then this is a great product

The Echo plus sounds better than I thought. Pretty good bass. To make it worth it you need to use it to control your smart home. The hue lights work great.

We use our Alexa to listen to all of our favorite music, control our smart bulbs, and play games. Entertainment for and easily used by even a 6 year old!

Love this thing. So many features. Easy to use (obviously, just talk to her). Great for easily putting on some quick music for the kids

This is our first Echo so nothing to compare it to, but so far so good! Sound is great. Fun to use and has been helpful for information needed quickly!
