Okay for Some Things

However, you have to purchase a lot of expensive accessories to make it useful. Reviews show that there are better speakers on the market, but you have to buy a separate hub for Echo home automation. I have UE Megaboom and Boom 2 speakers that are great and work with the Echo Dot.

Good Sound Quality

I wanted a stand alone sound system without having to hook up speakers. I am happy to report the Echo Plus works for me without the need of external speakers.

Alexa is great!

May get a Google Home as an additional option for unique features of both systems. Have the Alexa Show, 5 DOTs and 2 Alexa Plus'. Suggest at least the Alexa Echo or Plus for locations where sound quality is desired. The DOT is good for ambience and remote control, but you'll appreciate the sounds quality of the echo and plus in desired locations.

Amazing AI

We bought a single Demo outlet for a light and its amazing. We use Alexa for music, timers, shopping lists. We are thinking about buying more units for inter-room communications.
