Spent the next two weeks chatting with Amazon to resolve "on call" error message. It started to worked the fourth week, not sure why. Need to include "on call" error message in troubleshooting,

The only problem is that they have raised the prices. The echo show 8 used to be the same price as the show 5, now add an extra 30 dollars to each. Its a rip off for a kitchen timer. An alexa this small is worthless otherwise.

It glitches, the voice recognition is a struggle (I have to yell for it to hear me) - actually worth throwing away than giving away.

If your device set up uses the Alexa app, please check that you have the latest version of the app. 3. Restart your Echo device-Unplug it from power, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. 4. It did not exactly live up to my expectations but I mostly bought it so I could try out the Blink indoor camera that came with the purchase for an additional $5. I does what is advertised but maybe for what I was looking for I should have purchased the larger one.

My sister goes by Alexa so I wanted to keep in consistent and after hearing about all the features Alexa had and Amazons trade in program for it I was very intrigued. But the set up was just a nightmare for me. I was connecting it to my sister's Amazon account but because she already had her Roku account on I couldn't connect mines, Philip lights were so much harder to set up on the Alexa than Google and when I was looking up tutorials for set up, it was reacting to the Alexa calls from the phone. The home screen changes so much for no reason and even after turning off auto rotation it still rotated just slower. In the end it's probably a great system that works for some people but I can't deal with the set up so I returned it.
