Great to check on elderly loved ones.

He had the 10 at home and kept telling us he missed it. It was great because he used it all of the time to play music and sometimes watched a movie. Also great for us to be able to see him and interact with his care givers. If you are only going to have one device-definitely get at least the 8 - but this is a great extra one. We plan to put it in the bedroom when he gets home and leave the 10 in the living room.
