I's good for doing many things on it. But its performance system is rather slow, not fluently as I want. You feel you have to wait when you touch screen to control what you want. That's why it can not reach to 5 stars.

We got this to drop in on my mother in law. Even putting it on a new account, it was getting confused with my main account, and would sometimes call my own home. Amazon failed to offer a solution. In addition, it was struggling with the wifi. I tweaked the settings to improve my signal (55dh attenuation), and adjusted the channels to improve SNR. Still, it struggled to stay connected. In the long run it was more trouble than it was worth. I was getting daily questions about why it wasn't doing what we expected. I have returned it.

I purchased this for my son to help him get up for work, plus has many other uses. He just graduated early and was working a part time job. He managed to obtain and start his first full time job 01/02/24. He has always had a problem getting up for school in the mornings, so I felt like I needed to find something to help him get up on time. This has worked out great for him. He has been using the Echo show 5 for 3 weeks now and never been late.

Best upgrade from my echo dot, it has been great especially since I work from and I can see who is at the door without leaving my desk

I like the sound and the display. But, it would be better if the clock stayed in full large display for checking the time during the night.
