We are constantly working to improve upon our products and services from feedback like yours to provide the best customer experience. I am happy to hear that you are enjoying your device so far. One thing you can do to limit content that you do not want to see on your device's home screen is to swipe down from the top and navigate to Settings>Home Content and then toggle on or off any categories you would like or not like to see anymore. You can also go to your Display settings or Notification settings and customize those options as well. These are just a few tips you could try to hopefully improve upon your experience some. It sounds good, but doesn’t work with AirPlay or Chromecast. I understand what the major players are doing, but the big three ecosystems choosing not to support features that the other ones have is frustrating. Amazon products are basically adware, you pay a lower price in exchange for a worse experimece, data collection and constant ads.

Why Amazon would do this is crazy. I haven't set it up yet but I figure it sets up just like the other Echo(s) I have and have set up, which was fairly easy.

It also shuts down out of nowhere and I have to turn it back on the screen. I cannot make brighter. I’ve tried everything tech-support. It won’t go any brighter. It’s awful. I’m so upset. I only had two weeks to return it and now I’m stuck with it.

A screen that keeps going out can indicate a hardware defect or power supply problem.
