It's not the first kindle in the family. It's the first Fure HDX. It was working great, then all of a sudden it died. Took it in to the Geek Squad. It was terminal. Replaced it no problem. New one works great. This happens once in a blue moon. What's important to me was that Best Buy stood behind it and replaced it without question. Thanks

I am very happy with this item. I had researched for awhile. Wanted to buy but needed to see in person. Had that opportunity at Best Buy. My most important question was answered by your sales representative. I had been worried about an apparent blue haze rumor, but didn't see the problem. The very best app is the Matday feature. One of the best ideas yet

Every thing on the Kindle Fire HDX has been so easy to use for a beginner to the tablet world. I love my kindle and have it with me every where I go. This was the best purchase I have made and I tell everyone I know all about it.

Bought this for Christmas for my 11 year old daughter; I only had to help her a little w/ the set up and she LOVES IT! She likes reading books on it of course, but the graphics are great for games. Battery seems pretty good, but of course runs down faster playing games. Great gift!!

great product works very easy to down load my books for college

I have owned several Kindles and continue to be disappointed by the lowering standards. The charging ports always seem to break. Frankly, the price is not competitive to other tablets. For example, Samsung has tablets at a lower price point that you can download the Kindle app on to maintain access to your books. The only draw backs are that you loose the text-to-speech feature. (Not a big deal for me.)

It works really well as a reader and also looks great for using with apps. The ones you can get from the amazon store anyway, as you can't get apps from almost any other source. This was unfortunate considering the email app it comes with is pretty terrible. The operating system really left something to be desired for me. I didn't find it all that intuitive to use and wish you could customize it more. I almost returned for a different tablet because of this and the inability to expand storage capacity.

Excellent quality, high definition. Easy to use. No complaints.

I think that this device is easy for the high tech beginner.

I have had a Kindle since the first one and this is my favorite Kindle so far! For a long time I resisted the urge to get a Kindle tablet, but finally succumbed and have been very happy with my choice. I do mostly use it for reading, but have watched a movie and an Amazon Prime TV episode. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

HD is great for entertainments, but no rear camera and no option to add data plan, I would expect it to cost less for the limited functions and capabilities.
