I had been trying to decide which type of tablet to get. After talking to a few friends, the overall consensus was the Kindle HDX. I'm so pleased with this purchase. Pair it with an Amazon Prime membership, and you've got the essential package.

Have a Kindle for reading and wanted a tablet for daily use and Kindle Fire was a no brainer for me. Use it all day every day. Never want to be without my Fire.

I have an ipad and now a kindle. The kindle is amazing. Does everything I need and less expensive.

I purchased this kindle for my son for Christmas, he only used it for 2 weeks and had to return it back to the store because it froze.

It's a great little tablet. I use it for storing my knitting patterns, checking my email, working on documents and to store my photos. I haven't read a book on it yet, but I did like using my older kindle even though it was smaller.

Great tablet bought for my 7 yr old. He loves it! Keeps him entertained. Plenty of storage space. He no longer asks for my phone draining my battery. Would highly recommend to anyone who want there cell phones back from there children.

Amazon claims it's fire is built to withstands bumps and drops but what about building one that actually works correctly. If I wanted a tablet that after less than a year would no longer power on without being dropped or abused in anyway then I would have kept my 180 dollars and bought a cheap one for less than a hundred dollars.

I guess I am unhappy about the smaller screen. I didn't think one inch would be a big change but I've decided it is much harder to read with the smaller screen. I can change the type size, which helps, but even the icons are smaller. It is hard to read books outdoors, even with the high density FX enhancement, because there is a glare. My daughter has the paper white version of the Kindle and she does not have the glare problem.

My primary use is as a reader for downloaded books. It performs that function perfectly. I have not used if much for other functions like email or movies.

I love it. I was already of fan of kindle, this is not my first and won't be my last. It is not for taking pictures. You can only take pics of yourself. The quality of the front camera pics is excellent though. This is not a full, full service tablet for that reason. But everything else is great.

This is my second Kindle FIre. Had problems with the first as far as charging. Eventually, had to work the cord to get it to charge. Only problem with the HDX is the on/off button and volume. Keep turning volume up/down when wanting to turn on Kindle. However, I do everything, except typing stories, etc on my kindle. Love it. Amazon has so many free apps to choose from for the Kindle for free, much better than other tablets.

Bought two ....one for my 6 year old niece and one for my 9 year old daughter! They both love it and are on it reading books, playing games, looking up stuff for reports ....an excellent product! They have both dropped them a few times on the hardwood floor and no damage.....that's a plus!

Perfect for my needs. Like the convenient size to carry in my purse. Bayreuth the purchase.

Love the Kindle HDX and gave one to my technology-challenged husband. He loves to be able to see and read books but all of the capabilities and functionality is a bit overwhelming for him. Not a complaint or an issue - just a recommendation if thinking about it as a gift for a newbie...

I have totally enjoyed each day of my life since Christmas Cuz I have either played a game each day, read a book, reviewed my email and lots more. I bought a Kindle 4 yrs ago but never used it Or knew it did all this stuff! Thanks to Best Buy and a google representative I LOVE my Kindle

My wife and I bought this kindle for our daughter instead of an iPad and all of us our very satisfied with the product. However, trying to put parental controls for a 12 year old is pretty much useless as you can either block the internet entirely or not at all instead of restricting some sites. Sure the time limitations are good but you will constantly need to enter your password to download anything for them.

This is a perfect size for what I need. I take it with me everywhere I go and use it daily

I wish the camera was both front and back to make it easier to take pictures when you are on vacation I wish you could put your own screen saver and not have the carousel where it shows everything you look at or purchase
