This is a great product and what you think is a great deal $60 cheaper than amazon. What they don't tell you on the site, in their online chat, or in the store is that this product includes what Amazon calls "special features" or ads on the "screen saver" and else where on the kindle. Had I known this upfront I would not have bought it so quickly from the store. You can pay Amazon $15 to turn this feature off but again wish they would publish this on their site or with their chat personnel online when you ask them about that.

Overall, this is an excellent tablet for the price. Screen wquality is excellent. There are a number of apps available. Connection through wifi is generally quite good. Easy to set up and use. Only issue found so far is that when plugging in the cable to charge it, while in a cover, just a little difficult to plug in the cable.

As a loyal Apple buyer. I have several iPads, iMacs and etc. I bought this tablet and I am completely impressed. This little 7 inch tablet is a powerhouse. Does everything the iPad does just as well!! Don't hesitate to purchase!

The Kindle Fire is great for reading books and accessing the internet. Works well with Wifi

I bought this tablet for my 9 year old and he hasn't put it down since! He loves it! Perfect for any age.

Bought this for Christmas for my 16 year old son; I only had to help him a little w/ the set up and he LOVES IT! Battery seems pretty good, but of course runs down faster playing games. Great gift!!

Love Quad core processor, opening lock screen that requires 4 digit pen, Amazons experimental streaming viewer, display mirrow and readers view. I've had fun with this tablet, but still learning.

I really like the Amazon Kindle HDX except for one aspect: if you make a parent the owner of the Kindle and create children accounts to use Parental Controls then you cannot share books "borrowed" from Amazon Prime with your children. The books are borrowed under the owner account and the agreements Amazon has with the book companies prohibit "sharing" a borrowed book with others ,even if the one copy of the book is shared between accounts on the same device. If I want my children to have access to the free Amazon Prime library then I would need to remove Parental Controls. So close but still not perfect for parental controls.

I think that this a great tablet for someone just getting there beak wet when it comes to the ever expanding world of tablets. I didn't I like that the only to hookup to the internet is by wifi, no wifi no internet.

Kindle Fire is value for money. Better resolution then previous versions.

I don't use it much, but my kids love it. Recommended.

got this for mother, the screen is very clear and responsive. But i am just not into the layout of the apps and so on. I will get use to it i suppose and i am not a fan of the Amazon store. Still prefer App store for apple. Good if your on a budget

Amazon claims it's fire is built to withstands bumps and drops but what about building one that actually works correctly. If I wanted a tablet that after less than a year would no longer power on without being dropped or abused in anyway then I would have kept my 180 dollars and bought a cheap one for less than a hundred dollars DIDDO I get a black screen after sign in. Rebooted several times, no change. Best Buy will not exchange the kindle, its only 10 mos. old. Very poor customer service. I really love this device but hesitant to get another one. Maybe the Apple was the way to go.

Overall good. Better than my last kindle fire. Has burn in with blue fading on the sides. Concerned what will happen over long run. Glad was on sale when I bought it.

I bought this tablet after reading the reviews, and was impressed with the value, as this was a HD tablet. I was very disappointed after setting it up and realizing that I would not be able to download apps that I like from the Google Play app store. I tried in vain to do this, but I had no luck. Unfortunately, I am going to return this and I will wait until the HD Samsung tablet comes down in price.
