    3D Not so good

While the game is a classic and lots of fun, I am not enjoying the 3D features. After playing for as little as 30 minutes, I find the my vision has adjusted. It makes it extremely hard to then look up and look around the average size room. At first, I thought this was just something with myself, but others have now told me of a similar effect. Others have commented to me that they get headaches.

I just love playing this game. My daughter got a copy for her 3DS and we often link up and travel to each other's towns and play the mini-games together. If you like games like Pikmin and Mario you should like this game.

I never thought I would put so much time into playing a game. This game runs in real time, but there is always something to do to advance and enhance your experience.

I want to start this by saying I haven't played an Animal Crossing game since the original DS. I hated it on the DS. I bought this because I kept seeing people streetpass me and say they were playing it. I honestly tried it just to see what the fuss was about. Best money I ever spent. I could play the game for hours, if I had the hours to play it. As it stands, it's the perfect game for my life right now. I can play it for ten minutes, put it down, come back and play for ten more minutes, and it's all perfectly fine.

Just like previous Animal Crossings, except bigger

In previous animal crossings, you walk around and collect things to build up your museum, and expand your house. In New Leaf, you are doing the same things plus you are the mayor. There is a whole main street available to help business owners open shops that add more elements to the game play. There is also an island which allows you to find some of the more elusive bugs and fish, to earn more money quicker. It is simple and addicting so you can spend a lot of time building up your town and trying to collect certain items.

This is a great life simulation game for anyone that likes to spend some time away from reality. The game returns as much effort as you're willing to put into it. It's a lot of fun and quirky at the same time.

A nice refresh of the GameCube version

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I just broke into the handheld market (Who wouldn't get a 2DS for $80?) I love Animal Crossing. I've always felt it was one of those games that people really like or really don't. Personally I've found it to be very fun and addicting. There are a couple of things that are really nice about new leaf, and a couple that I find to be annoying. First, the good things. Now you can have your fossils evaluated by Blathers himself , instead of having to mail them and wait a day for them to be sent back. Another positive is the load times are much faster-not surprising given the technological advances since the GameCube version. Another positive is when you are selling items, you don't have to sell one item at a time or one group of an item at a time, you simply select everything in your inventory you want to sell and sell it for one price. Finally, YOU choose the layout of your town, and YOU choose where your house gets built. No more living in a neighborhood of 3 other houses that will likely sit empty forever. These are just a few of the benefits of the new version. The most annoying thing I can think of is the fact that now you have to wait for things to load if you go into a building. Granted, the load times are faster than before, but I don't remember having to wait as often. I suspect this has something to do with the handheld format. Also the new way of arranging items in your pockets is kind of annoying, but I think I could get used to it. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone who loved the original and doesn't mind playing in a handheld format. It's not the exact same game, but a refreshed version with new characters and more options. I used reward certificates and Gamer's Club discounts and got mine for $5. But at or below retail I would recommend buying.

If you have the genetic disposition to time/land/inventory management games, the Animal Crossing series is right up your alley. Gotta catch 'em all? Well here you have friends, furniture, fruit, fish, fossles, art, bugs, and other stuff to collect. Plenty to do, but it does get repetitive. And you have to keep it up. Goofing off for a week (meaning not playing the game) means you will have to rewater, regrow, weed/clear your town up. Definitely a fun game for those who are inclined to play these kinds of games.
