I’ve been a Mac user for some years now do I know about the capacity of the Macs. I was surprised by the slow speed of the iMac performing simple tasks like opening Safari or even my email. Not sure how many upgrades I’ll be able to hold.

Computer works as expected. I like Apple products.

I recently purchased a 21.5" iMac, latest model, Retina 4K display, equipped with the i3 quad-core processor and I can say that it has been my worst experience with an Apple product so far. The computer manages to be slower in responding to commands than my 12" MacBook. It is very frustrating to pay more than USD 1,200 for a machine that cannot perform simple multiple functions like switching between Word, Whatsapp Web and the internet browser. It takes about half a minute to open the settings tool. An eternity for those who purchase such an expensive product looking for speed and high performance. I don't use editing softwares and I don't use games that require a lot of graphics. On the contrary, I only use the internet browser and a couple of simple apps (as I mentioned: Whatsapp, Zoom, Spotify). But as I still have faith in Apple products, and considering that all of my other devices are from the same manufacturer (which greatly facilitates interconnectivity), I decided to buy the i5 6 core processor version and return this extremely slow machine. I hope my new one won't disappoint me!

It is surprising that Apple would sell this. It can take a minute to open each app and we are using our Mac for photos and music. Beautiful machine with a really slow drive...should have done more homework on how slow this truly is.

To me Apple products are top of the line. This computer is excellent but surprisingly slow. I do not have a lot of, if any large programs that would slow the computer. I would have purchased a different model if I had known.

This brand new iMac ran like an 8-year old computer. The startup time was around 4 minutes and opening google chrome was even worse. Missed the window to return and had to purchase a PC desktop.

Disappointment. This MAC as well as my last MAC had some kind of interface issue with my internet fiber optic and was incredibly slow. I thought is was internet provider and had their tech guy out here numerous times to try to fix the slow connection. He had an HP laptop and got lightning fast speeds while my MAC had as slow as 6 upload and 15 download. I did not have a lot of memory used up so there was NO REASON for such poor connection. I was also on with Apple support numerous times to troubleshoot. They must know about this and never fixed the issue. One agent even successfully deleted all of my desktop files somehow. Boy, that was a lot of fun. It was a total mess. I could walk away from my computer waiting for a page to open and the beach ball of death would appear. I would walk away out of sheer frustration only to come back later and it would still be 'beach-balling". Just like having dial-up again. Apple never stepped up to resolve this. Very disappointing. I have since switched to a Windows-based laptop. I'm very upset to have spent all the money on two MACS and ended up with the same problem twice. No coincidence there. Do not waste your money on this. Too bad Apple. I wanted to love this MAC but you let me down twice in 10 years and over $2500 with two useless computers.

I bought the iMac to use Windows 10? Say what? Macs have better resale, Apple has honest and ultra reliable extended warranties and their monitors are superior. The problem is that Apple made an easy to use program for installing Windows years ago. Now they’ve changed to a pain in the rear nightmare requiring way too much effort and time. A nightmare. So I rate the iMac as not worth the hassle if you plan to use Windows.

Slow, freezes often, crashes almost daily. The worst experience I have had with an Apple product since I bought my first one in 1984! Been working with Apple now or 2 weeks to resolve.....on last of their "we have to do this first" and if it fails they say they will give me a return authorization for Best Buy so I can get a replacement......appears Best Buy will not replace without something from Apple.

Not capable of too much multi-tasking. I was disappointed, but I guess every MacBook laptop I’ve ever had has higher level processors and can handle more.

It’s hard to understand, it doesn’t work well. I wish I could return it.

Switched from a MacBook to this iMac, and had to switch back. This computer is not very fast, and was there was no upside to using this computer over the MacBook.

Great computer but keyboard broke in less than 14 days. Apple CS suggested I buy a new one or after market to save money. Crazy they do not warranty their products.

Apple makes great products but this model is not what I was expecting. For that price I can get other brand with more power and speed on the Icore and SSD

So far the experience was not so great as expected, feels it was not as quick than a MacBook Pro. Good memory storage but slow performance

This is my first mac purchase and very disappointed with performance. I am the fan apple products but not happy with mac. planning to return it.

I have owned iMac computers since 2007 and this one is the worst. Slow start up. Slow app switching. Slow slow slow. This is only used for email and web, and it is almost unusable. Apple should be embarrassed. You can upgrade it. But it requires an Apple certified technician and a strong DIY. Who builds a computer you have to pay someone to upgrade memory on?

I was not that happy. It was slow and did not load apps fast enough. I returned it and got a 27 inch which works well.

It’s not nearly as fast processing as I expected it to be and I also didn’t realize that I had to plug in keyboard and mouse to charge

It’s too slow after a while after the latest updates. It’s better to buy the recent model always to sustain use for 3 years
