I recently purchased a pair of HomePods to complement my Apple ecosystem at home. I have to admit, the speakers themselves sounded fantastic... when they actually worked. However, the setup process for these speakers was incredibly frustrating. Initially, the setup was a breeze. However, things took a turn when I decided to upgrade my Apple TV to support eArc for my TV. After performing a factory reset, the HomePods simply refused to set up like they did the first time. I'm not sure if this was due to a new update to the HomeKit, but I had to make around 20 attempts before they finally progressed past the "Configuring" stage, which took hours. To resolve the issue, I ended up deleting my HomeKit Home and re-pairing everything, and that seemed to solve the problem for a little while, although it felt like an extreme measure to get these speakers to work. Another issue I encountered was sound cutting out while playing games or watching movies. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering that the HomePods were positioned right next to the router and Apple TV. I really wished I could plug in an Ethernet cable or something to avoid using wireless. Siri is not a great voice assistant sadly for these speakers and would recommend sticking with Alexa instead. Overall, my initial impression of the HomePods was positive, but it quickly turned into disappointment over time. I ultimately decided to return the HomePods and stick with my Alexa system, which has worked for me for years as my smart speaker. Instead, I invested in a Sonos Arc soundbar, which has been fantastic. While the HomePods may work well for certain home setups, they come with their fair share of quirks and issues to deal with. My recommendation would be to explore alternatives before fully investing in these speakers.

The sound is incredible. The integration into all of my other Apple products is great. It is easy to use. Unfortunately it is a bit pricey and Siri is limited. It was a splurge though and I look forward to using it to automate some features in my house in the future

This little speaker has deceptively amazing sound quality, gives you the fredom to control your smart home without having to find your phone, and can pick up on a song from your phone/tablet by holding the device near it. Theres a lot more to this speaker than meets the eye (I’m still figuring out a lot of it as i just got this myself). Even though the pricepoint seems a bit high, if you like to hear Freddy Mercury belt the high notes all the way down through Skrillex’s floor-shaking lows(bass can be reduced if you dont care for aggressive lows), this is the speaker for you!

Absolutely the best sound from such a small device. It is elegantly designed and easy to use Siri to play rich sounding Classical to my favorite 70's rock. It is very responsive to voice commands and works well with my other MiniPods.

I added this with another for a stereo pair to my entertainment system I have set up in my living room and oh my gosh let me tell you I love the sound. It’s no big time system but what cones out of it wow the sounds is awesome. I have both paired to my home kit and to play music and listen to movies is an outright treat to listen to. I didn’t expect any bass out of them but it sure does sound like it has great bass. Dolby atmos movies I love the sound out of it especially with my Apple TV all working together. You won’t be disappointed get you a pair not 1 but 2 for a better experience.

This is such a fun and great addition to your home. Quality is enough to think “Okay, okay Apple, I see you.” My recommendation is to put it in/near a corner, so you have sound echoing up and off the walls, and you’ll be a happy camper. The button is a little sensitive and will start playing its own radio if you’re not careful, but it does a great job of connection to your devices and being easy to “see”. I connect mine to my Apple TV and have several going through my home, and it’s awesome for chill music sessions during the day, and movie night is a blast.

We’re about a day into using a pair of these in our living room and have them paired with an Apple TV 4K. Very impressed with ease of setup, integration in our Apple life and the sound quality. Audio through Netflix is super. Music quality through Spotify is great too. I really could not be happier. Everything is just great. Really don’t care about Siri or home automation. I bought these for upgrading AppleTV audio and listening to Spotify. It does those two things in an awesome way. If you live in an Apple world, you can’t go wrong.

This is my second Apple HomePod that I bought from Best Buy. The sound is very good. It has punchy base. I have them synced to my Apple TV in my bedroom and office. It really helps improve the sound of my TV. The tv’s onboard speakers don’t sound good. The HomePod makes a big difference. I also stream my Apple Music and Spotify through them.

I totally regret my purchase. im a big apple fan, and for this HomePod to be so sluggish is so disappointing. the bass and sound is AMAZING! but when it comes to connections, and Siri, its so POOR!! it makes having commands useless and Siri useless. there ever hardly access or connection. I feel like wasted money, and now the sound started stat icing and I only had this for a month and a half and im disappointed completely.

I love Apple products. I think the quality is top of the line. When my Echo showed signs of dying, I investigated the HomePod for an AI Assistant replacement. The HomePod has the best sound when playing Apple Music. It's amazing what comes out of this thing and I was impressed; however, I'm used to Alexa/Echo answering my questions. Sometimes I ask cooking and recipe questions, or measurement conversions, etc. I hold a conversation with Alexa. Not with Siri. I asked it for a cooking temperature for steak I was grilling and it told me to ask it again on my iPhone and it would send me to a website to show me. I then began asking it typical questions I would ask Alexa. It kept directing me to my iPhone to ask it there so it could send me to a website with the information. Close to 300.00 to act as a mediator to direct me to my phone. If you're looking for a speaker, it has superb sound, but as an extension to your AI uses, it's completely useless. I purchased Amazon's Echo Studio and it's definitely the replacement I wanted with some great sound.

I got this new one to replace an original that was many years old and had developed an intermittent popping noise. This new one runs a lot smoother and quicker with commands and responses. Siri seems to understand me better, which may be the device hardware being better or the backend/software improvements. The music sounds fantastic and gets plenty loud for my basement. I don’t have any complaints, it’s a solid product and i really enjoy it!

I got this to use as a thread border router to start building out a Thread/Matter smart home and for that purpose it has worked without a hitch. Of course the sound is also very good for the size, and it's really well integrated with the whole iPhone/iPad/Mac ecosystem that we have. I'm most surprised and impressed with the amount of bass that comes out of this thing! It may not be audiophile quality sound, but it's loud and enjoyable and works for me as a music-lover and a picky tech person. If you can stomach the price, I highly recommend it!
