Excellent sound quality, headaches in Spotify

I picked up two of these for our homes since I was struggling with Google audio nest speakers. Since we’re largely an Apple ecosystem, I figured it would work pretty well. Problem is we don’t use Apple Music. We use a family plan with Spotify. Apple doesn’t allow for groupings of speakers, which was annoying. The other issue was that because my wife and I both have a different iCloud account getting both of our iPhones to work somewhat more seamlessly within. Spotify was problematic. In the end, I discovered that my recently updated TP – link mesh system just didn’t work well with speakers generally. I switched to Eero after doing some research. Things worked much better, but I still experienced to glitches with the Apple HomePods. I still had my Google nest set up and so I reinstall that. Far better integration with Spotify. Yes, sound quality not quite as good but at this point, the slight improvement and sound quality isn’t worth the additional headaches. I’m going back to Google nest. Cimpl immediate integration within Spotify. I can use the Google Home app to create speaker groups but once I’ve done that they’re automatically recognized in Spotify and I don’t have to open the app anymore to do anything, unless I want to try and control volume uniquely within each speaker in a speaker group. The last question on here is a bit tricky. Would I recommend these? If you’re running a fully pure apple set up using Apple Music then yeah they’re probably decent though. You still can’t punch them together into specific groups, which is a really nice feature and something Apple needs to add. If you’re using Spotify or some other music service and or you want the ability to Bluetooth to the speaker, I do not recommend this product.

I got this to use as a thread border router to start building out a Thread/Matter smart home and for that purpose it has worked without a hitch. Of course the sound is also very good for the size, and it's really well integrated with the whole iPhone/iPad/Mac ecosystem that we have. I'm most surprised and impressed with the amount of bass that comes out of this thing! It may not be audiophile quality sound, but it's loud and enjoyable and works for me as a music-lover and a picky tech person. If you can stomach the price, I highly recommend it!

This is my second Apple HomePod that I bought from Best Buy. The sound is very good. It has punchy base. I have them synced to my Apple TV in my bedroom and office. It really helps improve the sound of my TV. The tv’s onboard speakers don’t sound good. The HomePod makes a big difference. I also stream my Apple Music and Spotify through them.

I purchased a pair of these new HomePods to go with an AppleTV 4K - replacing my cumbersome soundbar/subwoofer/satellite speaker setup. To be frank, these are absolutely awesome - you would never think this amount and quality of sound would come out of this "Pod" - I hear things now I never even knew were present with my old setup. They are a little pricey but well worth the money, no other speaker comes close quality wise or aesthetically at this price point. Do yourself a favor, get paid - you will be impressed!!

Apple HomePod gen 2 could be for you! By itself it honors the sound spectrum that the first HomePod introduced, although me, as a gen 1 owner can notice the difference that the absence of two mics cause, I love loud music, unhealthy levels of volume. Siri will struggle to hear the command once the volume goes above 76% to me this is a deal breaker. But apple HomePod gen 2 could be for you if you’re a human being that cares for your hearing health and only reproduce your content at reasonable levels of volume, making this, the best sounding home speaker that also supports Siri. Not the smartest assistant but she does best what the HomePod is suppose to do,

The only purpose this device serves is for Apple fans to buy because they could. As far as smart speaker, hubs go, it’s pretty lacking, but that’s not the hardware’s fault. The device is built well, just like any other Apple device. The quality of audio out of these speakers is fantastic, and I can see why people would use these as a home theater with Apple TV. But it certainly doesn’t replace a legit home theater system.

I have both the Apple Homepod 2 and the Apple mini in my home and if you enjoy base and a nice rich sound then these two items are a world apart. The Homepod 2 definitely brings a nice rich sound with a nice base compared to the mini. The mini is great for small spaces but it lacks the presence of the Homepod 2. I will be picking up a second one in the near future to test the double speakers feature.

Solidly built, excellent sound. I own the first generation and the bass on that one is better but gen 2 is 50$ less. Bought 2 for stereo pair.

I am so happy that Apple brought this back. I have an older one so I LOVE THIS! These are awesome! Deep rich sound. Much stronger than the smaller ones that have been out. (I have a few of those) I put this in every room that I can and the sound fills the room. I simply play music from my iPhone and enjoy a great sound. Very easy to set up. Sets up in seconds with your iPhone. THANK YOU APPLE for finally bringing this back!!!

I’ve tried different, smart speakers and I kept coming back to this one! It’s absolutely AMAZING sound and really takes music to a different experience! I have a first generation HomePod in my bedroom and we are using the second generation HomePod for our living room set up! I think a HomePod paired up to an Apple TV 4K is just about the perfect set up! We just have it paired up with one speaker!

I would play them one at a time and switch it to 1 and then 2 and in my opinion, the 1st generation sounds better. The bass on the 1st generation sounds deeper compared to the 2nd generation. But playing them together sounds really good but I would have to turn the volume up or down on one of them because the volume doesn’t match. Overall though I’m happy. Maybe in the next update they can fix that issue of the volume.

The sound coming out of this is really amazing for its size. Big bass, really clean highs. And it's really functional for home automation. It's so good in fact, I bought a second one to make a stereo pair the the result is greater than the sum of the parts. I hear there's an update coming this Fall where voice in movies is going to be improved so you hear the dialog better. Way better than the HomePod Mini, which I also have a pair for the TV downstairs.

Love this device. I do think it is a bit too expensive for what it is, but the sound is Amazing. I use this in my kitchen attached to an apple TV when cooking. Convenient and simple to use. We play music and TV through this speaker daily. I also love connecting it to the rest of my Airplay speakers throughout the house.

Fantastic speaker. Fills the room like many other quality alternatives (like Sonos) while having a softer appearance. Once you enter this higher-tier category, it's hard to go wrong. And while the home minis are also fantastic, the full size one here brings a noticeable increase in bass. For the price though, I think I would still choose 2 or 3 home minis over this if creating a wide-room or multi-room setup on a budget... but for a single room, choose this.
