If You’re Deep Into The Apple Ecosystem, Get This

This is the perfect accompaniment to a subscription to Apple Music (a free 3-month trial comes with purchase if you aren’t). Once the initial setup is completed, just ask Siri to play a song, album or playlist and boom! You’re getting good sound with rich bass. Volume can be controlled with voice commands, or the virtual buttons on top of the unit. Things get more complicated if you’re not an Apple Music subscriber. If you have an iPhone, all you need to do is start your music playing, and tap your phone to the top of the unit and your music is automagically transferred to the HomePod via Airplay. Any AirPlay enabled device should be able to stream to HomePod, so if you have an AppleTV, you can stream audio with a couple of taps. You can link two HomePods together for stereo sound. An update coming in Fall of 2020 promises better integration with third-party music services like Spotify. If you’re not in the Apple ecosystem, there are better, cheaper speaker systems with equal sound quality and more flexibility (like Sonos).

If you've finally surrendered to the notion that you need an always-on listening device in your home just so that you can occasionally shout at it to play "Pump Up the Jam" while you wash dishes or vacuum your dog, then this is the best choice out there. Way too expensive for what it is, but that's Apple. However, if you accidentally activate Siri, you might get some sweet class action money. Worth it!

The Siri aspect works pretty closely to what you already used to. The sound quality is pretty good … for its size. The problem is the size is quite small, so when comparing apples to apples, it beats the other apples for sure. It’s just that you need a speaker more the size of a cantaloupe to really fill a decent size space.

Excellent sound for its small size. I bought an open box in excellent condition, but it came linked to another apple ID so I had to reset the speaker, I recommend that best buy at least do those details for customers

This HomePod Mini is an excellent addition to our smart home, and it could be to yours if you’ve got an iPhone and Apple Home set up. The setup process was probably next to the easiest way, to set up a device to your iPhone.

Apple's Siri Safer Than Amazon's Alexa

I switched my entire house full of Echo devices over to Apple's Homekit. Great sound that is true to the music and not just loud and inaccurate as Echo's seem to do. Mainly after returning to the iPhone and it's iOs hemisphere it's just safer in my opinion. I do not trust Amazon any longer after silencing conservative voices.

I think it sounds great, my issues with the HomePod are: 1.) It has Bluetooth built in but no way to directly connect a device outside of airplay. 2.) If there are multiple users switching isn’t always seamless, at times it wouldn’t even show up as a device to stream to. 3.) It’s authorized under the person who sets up MyHome. I bought this for my girlfriend mostly but because I am the one who set up the HomeKit appliances (Lights, thermostat etc) it has to go under my home account or I’d have to reset everything under a new home account. Even though both users are set as administrators, it’s my phones messages who Siri will read. 4.) Siri still needs more features, she’s decent at what she can do but I’ve seen better utility with Alexa, and this is coming from an avid Apple user. Outside of those issues. The sound is great and having a voice assistant to set timers and dim the lights is nice. If you have the money it’s a o-k purchase, if you’re just wanting a wireless speaker that can use Siri, well, Siri is still on your phone and there are other very nice Bluetooth speakers out there.

It makes the sounds and does it well. I was very surprised with how much bass and just how loud this thing actually is. Works well for my needs. I don’t use the smart features all that much but the few I have used work well.

I purchased the HomePod Mini to use as a speaker for a bedroom tv. Connects seamlessly to an Apple TV. Voice control works well. Very pleased with result. Possibly buying a second one for stereo capability.
