I purchased the HomePod with intentions to return the device if it did not meet my expectations as it is quite expensive. After using it for less than 2 minutes I already knew it was not going back to the store! I have a Google home I've been using since Christmas and I compared the two alongside each other and was very surprised at how much superior the Apple HomePod was compared to the google home. The sound quality from the Apple HomePod is unbelievable compared to the Google home, and I thought the HomePod was even more responsive than the Google Home was. As for the voice assistant I do know that the Google home has more/better capabilities than the HomePod does, but I simply believe the capabilities the HomePod has are plenty good for the average user. I'd recommend the HomePod not just to Apple users but to anyone interested in a home speaker/ voice assistant as well.

It is an Apple product. All good! However this time I picked the Best Buy Open Box - Excellent. A couple of bucks less, but please think twice before you pick this option. Packed in a used ziplocker bag. All together with the charger. No documentation or box. Scratched surface and fingerprint smudged. Far from mint condition. No compensation from Best Buy after complaint. Just an option to return. A bit disappointed.

This is a great dining room speaker. We use it every night. The intercom feature is very nice and useful. We also use the HomePod as home hub for our security cameras and lights. If you want to have a HomeKit eco system for your home, a HomePod is a must.

I have several of these and common rooms in the house as well as two being used in stereo pair in my bedroom - the sound playback from my AppleTV 4K as the source (bypassing my tv speakers completely)

My son loves this Apple HomePod mini for his bedroom. He's set it up to be like Iron Man's Jarvis. To boot, its an Apple product that works flawlessly

Sounds is good not great. Max volume was underwhelming. Those are issues I could put up with for the connivence promised. However, I started experiencing connectivity issues. No matter how I troubleshoot the pod it refuses to connect to my phone unless I unplug it for a few seconds. This takes away any sort of convenience factor as it is a pain to operate. I consider myself a tech savvy person with great patience but this one really bothered me.

BUY IT IF AVAILABLE!!! Wow I can’t believe I waited 3 years to purchase the HomePod, it’s sad that apple has discontinued this amazing product. As you can see from the picture I have an Alexa smart speaker as well and although Alexa Is capable of doing and answering more, the biggest downside that I had with it was the sound quality and how frustrating it was to play music from Apple Music, with the HomePod that changed. I can easily ask Siri to play a certain playlist or song and plays it. It also works great with the Apple TV, you could use it as a sound-bar. If it’s available buy it. You won’t regret it!!

I have enjoyed my HomePod. Great speaker and easy to connect to your apple devices. Bought this speaker when it was on sale, plan to buy another one when they go on sale again.

Perfect size/sound for master bathroom. Love being able to start music on my phone and transfer to HomePod, or just tap the top to continue playing from previous session. Not sure how good sound would be in a bigger room, but for bathrooms work well.

This sounds better than I was expecting. I love that I can control from my phone and my watch. Very convenient.

Got on sale ($100 off) and I jumped on it! It has completed my Apple collection—thank you Best Buy! It’s everything that Apple’s marketing video says. I’m so happy! I gave my aged Bose Sound Dock with the 30 pin and now everything is wireless and wanted new technology within the Apple ecosystem even though I love my Alexa Echo, I don’t use it in the most intimate way (my contacts, etc) for fear of privacy concerns.

Comparing with alexa, homepod is so limited, Apple need to make the system working with Spotify not only monopoly just for Apple music. Quality sound is more basses, if you like thump bass this is it. The price I got on sale so worth it.

It works great! Bought it as used and it came in practically looking new, only the charger end was missing but we had extras.

Now this is my third I have in my home. It controls my Air conditioner and heat, my music in every room in my room, my lights, and more making it the ultimate home system. Sound quality is the best. At its price point, I can honestly say, if you’re not a fan of Apple products and don’t at least have two, I wouldn’t buy this. You also need Apple Music membership to stream music from it at its full potential. So keep this in mind please

I purchased 8 of these and Best Buy shipped them to me in a large box, no insulation, with them all floating around inside and all of the boxes very nicely banged up as a result. Still waiting on the other 5 to arrive but I’m expecting the same behavior in they will also be shipped poorly. That being said, it’s hard to know what is a result of mishandling or not, because the top of one of the units is scuffed, the other two are not. After setting the three of these up, the sound is good for the size of speaker, but having a homepod next to the mini, the bigger one is just night and day. Even having two minis paired it’s just no contest. The best way I can describe it is they sound like a Amazon echo show 5, maybe a little better. The fabric is also not wrapped around them as nicely as the old homepod and the displays on top of them are also not uniform. Nor does the ambient light sensor work correctly. Sitting all next to one another, they have different color profiles, one is bright, while the other two are dim. If you shine a light on the top of them, they all adjust and get brighter. I’ll contact the store and ask for feedback, as I’m not going to keep these after they were packed so badly and the box looked like an accordion. I think the cosmetic defects are notable and unacceptable. But from a sound perspective, if price is your only factor, then great. If you are looking for good sound I’d pass. The one speaker setup with 2 passive radiators on this speaker shows it’s limits quickly in it can do highs, mid ranges, or lows, but it can only do one or two of these at a time so the music sounds like it’s missing instruments if you know the tracks you like to listen to the most. This speaker feels like one that should cost about half as much based on the quality Im seeing and hearing. But my background is also one of having bought big systems in the past, owning many of the original HomePods which are again night and day from this, and most recently to a minimal Sonos setup for tv watching.
