As I wrote in my other review about my second HomePod.. these are awesome and I should add they are awesome when they come in pairs! One in my bathroom and one in my room. I can wake up in my room, gather the clothes I want for my shower, maybe play some video games before my shower, then go take my shower and do my morning routine. All while listening to the same music and not having to touch my phone at all. Only gripe I have is that it plays the clean version of songs whenever I ask through “Hey Siri”

The HomePod Mini is a smart speaker developed by Apple Inc. It is a smaller and more affordable version of the original HomePod. The HomePod Mini is designed to provide high-quality audio and smart home integration in a compact size. It features a spherical shape with a fabric mesh covering and comes in two colors: white and space gray.
The HomePod Mini is powered by Apple's S5 chip and uses computational audio to deliver high-quality sound. It also features Siri, Apple's voice assistant, which can be used to control music playback, set reminders, and control smart home devices. The HomePod Mini can also be used as an intercom system with other HomePods and Apple devices.
The HomePod Mini can be set up and controlled using the Home app on an iPhone or iPad. It can also be used with other music streaming services like Spotify and Pandora. The HomePod Mini is compatible with Apple's HomeKit, which allows users to control smart home devices like lights, thermostats, and locks using Siri.

Realistically I would give this like a 4.5 star review. Its not perfect, "Alexa" and "hey google" are probably better androids and the price for the home pod mini is higher than the similar sized product from amazon and google. But in the end, this is a beautiful, clean, reliable and secure device that sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Google home mini and echo dot, like its not even close. I plan to get a couple more and would like to hear how much better stereo pairing the music would be. It doesn't bother me that Siri isn't as smart as the others, but it for sure is the safest and most secure at protecting your privacy. my only dock on this would be the price vs its direct competitors, but to me, the quality and sound more than make up for it. Especially as your turn up the volume, it still sounds great and doesn't dilute like the competitors. I'm also impressed at how lightly I can say "Hey Siri" when the music is loud and she will still hear me. I'm impressed.

I recently purchased an Apple HomePod for myself as a little b-day gift. After living with the speaker for a while, here is what I can offer.
1. Set-up is perhaps the easiest I've ever done for a network device. Plug it in, hold your iPhone near it, and it automatically starts the set-up for you. Click a few buttons on your phone to complete the set-up and you're up and running in like a few minutes. Very nice.
2. Once set up, using the speaker is amazingly simple, yet feature-rich. "Hey Siri, play some Coltrane", or "Hey Siri, play Music for Airports by Brian Eno" and in about 2 seconds, it starts playing. Too loud or quiet? Just say "Hey Siri, raise/lower the volume" and it'll take care of that.
3. Ask it the weather, or what your appointments are for tomorrow. It seems like it can pretty much do it all.
4. The "ring" issue. Some people have found that the speaker can leave a ring on some wood surfaces. You can go ahead and buy a little $10 stand to put it on. I just used a folded piece of paper. Works great.
5. Let's talk about sound. Plenty of reviews talk about the great sound, and for its size, the sound is impressive. Don't expect your HomePod to sound like Tannoys or a nice pair of vintage Klipschorns, but the sound is pretty good. It's an active speaker, so it adjusts its sound reproduction based on its surroundings. So don't worry too much about where you're putting it. It can adjust.
Speaking of Coltrane, I played "A Love Supreme" and was actually impressed. The bass solo sounded pretty decent, not as muddy as I would expect a small woofer to be. The drum solo sounded relatively tight. The piano was missing a bit of brightness, but still more than passable. Sax just stood out nicely. Overall, the sound was more natural that I was expecting, and definitely better than the artificial sound you'd get from a similarly-sized speaker from Bose.
6. Volume control. You can tell it to raise or lower the volume, or tape the plus/minus sign on top. I do wish the volume increments were a bit smaller, though. Raising the volume sometimes is a bit too high and I wish it could raise it just a little bit less. But this is a minor issue in my book.
7. The power cord. OK, yeah, I'm making a point of the power cord. They actually give you a decent-length cord! I know this seems like a small issue, but I do get tired of getting electronics that have these short, dinky power cords.
In all, I think this would make a fine addition to your home, assuming you are well-invested in the Apple ecosystem.

Great sound-super easy to hook up.
I have 3 now! Even one in the bathroom to listen to audiobooks with!
Can also text and make calls which is convenient. The family intercom freaks out my mom but is useful too. The handoff to and from iPhone works like a charm. I’ll be getting ready for work listening to a podcast and switch to my phone. Plug it right in to CarPlay and I’m back in business!
Great product!

This is the second HomePod mini that I’ve purchased and I can’t recommend them enough. They’re easy to set up and sound great. The space they take up is minimal and so it’s easy to place them anywhere.

I’ve been using Apple products for a good portion of my life. My first college computer was an iMac. About a year ago, I finally made the transition from Android to iOS. From there, I’ve slowly integrated myself into the Apple ecosystem. As an I.T. Technician, I personally enjoy utilizing home automation. However, the cheaper cost of the Google devices lead me to build around them. With increasing security concerns with the likes of Google and Amazon, this HomePod Mini couldn’t have come at a better time. Not only does it sound amazing for its size, it is the perfect product to begin the transition to Apple’s HomeKit. If you are someone dedicated to using Apple devices and are on a budget, like myself. I can’t recommend the Apple HomePod Mini enough.

I have been intrigued by this product since released, and frustrated with Apple's pricing practices and desire to be a "top tier" company by only offering high end high price products. This device always seemed a bit overpriced and unnecessary for me as I have a nice sound system connected to my TV, but I wanted something for Home Kit control. I like Apple's focus on encryption and privacy especially with the alway on always listening home controlling devices like this. I have apple Home Kit enabled devices in my house, and wanted a quick way for my pet sitter to turn them on and off when she comes in. I tried the Amazon dot last year, but found it difficult to setup and you need to have the always listening feature on. It also required setting up my already existing already working HomeKit enabled devices in the Alexa app which was hit and miss. I was waiting and hoping that Apple would release a cheaper version of this with less speaker and more control. Then Best Buy had this on holiday sale for 100 dollars off retail price. I figured it was worth a try knowing I had time to return it if it did not work. I set it up in seconds yesterday, and immediately transferred the podcast I was listening to on my phone to the speaker. I often wear headphones around the house and listen to music or podcasts throughout the day. This makes it easy to transfer what I am listening to via my phone airplay button and I can hear it clearly from anywhere in the downstairs. It sounds amazing and is so much easier to use to listen to anything on my phone. Yes you can use it without the Hey Siri feature listening. You can press and hold the center of the top panel which prompts Siri so I can turn off the "always listening" or if it does that annoying digital assistant thing where it mishears something I say that sounds vaguely like "Hey Siri" and becomes disruptive (This has not happened yet). I also like that in the Home app on my iPhone I can turn off the Home pod analytics which will not share my always on always listening recordings with Apple or anyone else. I wish the $200 price was not a promotion, but the retail price. After 1.5 days it has proven its worth and made me realize something I was overtly critical of and uninterested in is as good as I was sure it was not. I like being proven wrong. I am not sure I would pay $300 for it at full price, but if it keeps impressing me like this I might eat those words as well.

Amazing sound quality. When you use as a stereo pair with Apple TV it changes the experience of watching tv and takes you to a whole new level. Highly recommend this product. You can also simply tap your phone to it and the music you were listening to on your phone just hops over to the speaker

I love the New HomePod mini. It’s just like the main HomePod but just smaller. The sound quality is amazing for the size. Just as loud as the big one. I can’t tell the difference. The quality is just what you expect with Apple. If you don’t want to spend the money for the big HomePod. Then you sure won’t regret getting this small one.

I had my smart home running with Google assistant before. I switch to Home pod mini looking for the security features that comes with Apple OS and the integration with my others apple devices. I have to say that in that purpose works very well. I really enjoy how you can extend you iPhone messages, calls, etc to the home minis. I like how the music sounds on it, but, I miss some features that I had when I used Google assistant such as: Siri stop to hearing you after your request, then you have to repeat Hey Siri many times. When you have your hands busy and ask Siri something, the answers are sent to your iPhone, instead to be told to you as you was expecting. You can only use Apple Music with them, no Spotify or Youtube, or other app. I really hope Apple continues improving the software and add this capabilities.

Wowed by this little speaker. Best sound from anything this small I’ve ever listened too. I’ve got it tucked away on a dresser in our bedroom and it fills the room with music. Siri seems better than I remember as I haven’t used it much on my phone. The hand off feature is convenient and easy to use.

Sound quality is really good (although it only gets so loud) and you even get some interesting special/3D effects from it. Cut from the same cloth as the larger HomePod.
Siri has gotten better and the Home app works fine with all my smart home stuff and the HomePod minis control everything fine despite a little lag from the time you ask Siri to do something until it gets done.
I’d rather have 3 of these than 1 of the bigger one for the same cost. I can have these play music at the same time and it really fills the house. And if I ask Siri something, the nearest one will respond (like to set a timer or something).
Overall a great product if you’re fully bought into the Apple walled garden. Google and Alexa might be a little more robust, but I don’t want them snooping on me and selling me stuff. HomePod does what I want quite well, plays nice with other gadgets and smart home stuff, and nothing more. And that exactly what I want out of a product like this.

I have enjoyed this product. The volume is perfect for the size of my room. The only thing that I am still learning is to have it automatically play from my phone instead of whatever it is programmed to. But that will be easy to figure out once I sit down and take the time to look at my seetings.

I am writing this review in hopes this helps others thinking to buy them. This review is for 2 HomePod mini stereo paired.
I bought one black and one white. They have to be paired in the home app on an iPhone and then updated separately. This is a pain, but be patient. Once paired, you can use with airplay.
I personally just use them as a pair of speakers for my Mac mini. You can use airplay, or actually use as the audio output. I have issues with one speaker not working while the output, always works as airplay. You cannot use the EQ in airplay, only as output. Sometimes there is a gap in seamless tracks, sometimes there isn't.
But all in all, I am very pleased with them. They sound great. I can use with all my apple devices. I do not use Siri, but it is possible. There is an intercom I also do not use.
It is not as simple as bluetooth speakers. They do not charge, but do require a USB-c power block (included, whew). My Mac mini would not power them despite having 4 usb-c jacks.
Music and movies sound great. 360 sound.
I used to have the JBL BT speaker, but it died. I am not mad I replaced it with these.
There are also stands that I recommend for cable management.

This is a great hub for the apple ecosystem. It is surprisingly full sounding, clear, and loud. Impressive for its diminutive size. Paired with smart plugs I was able to automate my Christmas lights this year on a timer or via voice command.

The HomePod is something really special that will expand its options as updates come available over time. The sound on this impeccable piece of engineering is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I’m a audiophile at heart. I have to have the best of the best when it comes to sound. This has 7-speakers that offer crisp and clear keynotes that can make you hear things that you normally couldn’t in the smart speaker world. I also have a Sonos and believe me when I say this that the sound comparison between the Apple’s HomePod and the Sony’s Sonos has a marginal gap. I was blown away by how impressive the HomePod sounds. The microphone also has pretty good range. I was 3 rooms away and Siri picked up what I said (with kids running in the background) and played 80s Rock. That was impressive for a small but heavy speaker. Speaking of heavy. That is due to the magnet that is in this speaker. The bass that comes from this thing is MIGHTY impressive. I’ve had friends come over during the weekend and they never guessed it was coming from the HomePod. They thought it was my Bose Home Theatre system that I usually have on. Needless to say they were blown away as it knows where it’s sitting by using sound waves reporting back to the device so that’ll it’ll adjust to any room setting.
On another note. This is is limited for now. If you don’t think Apple won’t open the HomePod up to other apps and add new features then you obviously don’t know Apple. For now if you can be a little patient until Apple releases updates this year and can just admire the sound quality the HomePod has then its for you. It’ll eventually be able to connect to other devices within time. Everyone just has to be patient. That shouldn’t stop anyone from buying a speaker to listen to music via Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify.
Overall, The HomePod is an incredible sounding machine. Apple spent 6 years in development to get the sound perfect and they did just that. Now they will focus on updates throughout the year to improve what’s already THE best sounding device in my home.
Go get one especially if you’ve invested in iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music!!

I bought two of these, the second because I was so satisfied with the first. I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem and wanted to start automating my house. The HomePod Mini is the cheapest way to start and you also get a great sounding speaker to boot. The quality and feel is at the usual high Apple standards and set up with HomeKit was very easy. The listening range is good enough that if I yell loud enough it was able to hear my voice on the first level but it was better to just buy another for my bedroom, especially at $100. My only wish is that it could possibly connect easily to my TVs. One other thing I liked is the security and privacy that Apple focuses on in comparison to the competitors. Definitely a great option for Apple lovers.
